ARCHITECTURAL ASPECTS OF THE BUILDING SERVICES

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COORDINATING ENGINEER

• Proposed design has to be checked and review according to the clients


requirements. Check the economically and the feasibility aspects of the design.
• Should be the impartial intermediater between the Client and the Contractor.
• Check the quality of the materials and given the relevant approvals.
• Authority to removal of the improper material from the site.
• Analysis of the rates and negotiation with the contractor.
• Given the approvals for the variations according to the Client’s requirements.
• Given the approvals for the shop drawings.
• Given the approvals for the extension of the construction period, on reasonable
ground.
• Given the approvals for any alterations, additions or the omission within the site
with the approval of the Client.
• Given the authority to remove any plant, machinery or equipment from the site.
• Check the quality of the work and make sure they are in order to the ICTAD
specifications.
• Checking, acceptance and given the approval for the contractors work
programme.
• Review and given the approval for the method statement.
• Check the physical condition of the machines and the equipment.
• Check the design weather it is in order to the relevant regulations of the
government and the allied authorities.
• Conduct and monitoring the periodic progress review meetings.
• Given the advises for socio economic or security failure if arose in the site and
prevent the corruptions.
• Follow up the work progress to ensure the proper completion of work and avoid
delays and critical paths analysis.
• Given the approvals to the suppliers and the subcontractors assuming the past
performances.
• Given the instructions to proceed the work to the contractor within the
Maintenance period
