IMI BOND is a solvent based single component adhesive based on synthetic


rubber with special tackifier and additives. It is specially developed to fix
bituminous protection board to protect the bituminous waterproofing membrane.
It is very good in film forming nature which gives uniform bonding.

MAIN USES Suitable for bonding of Bituminous sheets, EPDM, leather, shoe
material, composite panels, wood & aluminum items, boards, steel, carpet
flooring, plastic rubber sheets and other items as well.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation: The surface should be structurally sound, clean, dry,
leveled and free from dust, dirt curing compounds & grease. Clean the surface
thoroughly to remove all loosely adhering particles & cement laitance.
APPLICATION METHOD: Apply IMI BOND evenly with brush/roller, spot
bonding or in strips on both surfaces as per the site requirement. Wait until
solvent is fully evaporated which takes approx. 15 mins or when the adhesive
applied becomes tacky. Special care must be taken on the edges and adhesive
must be evenly applied. Take care to position the material accurately as they
cannot be adjusted by sliding. Next firmly press the to p using a seam roller/ a
press to ensure evenly pressure applied to the entire surface. IMI BOND has a
good initial grab, however pressure applied only by hand is not sufficient to
obtain optimum results it is essential to press evenly over the entire surf ace in
all cases. Do not leave the material coated with IMI bond/ contact adhesive to
dry in a damp or dusty environment; props/support can be utilized to keep the
boards in place till the adhesive is strong enough to hold the protection board.

Although there is a little health hazard associated with this product, the following
precautions are advised when using it.
 Wear protective gloves and a barrier cream on exposed skin.
 Avoid smoking, hot lights, naked flames and creating sparks.
 Never take the product internally.
 Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and non-protective clothing’s.
 Allow adequate ventilation when working in confined spaces.

The technical data given herein are the average values obtained on the test carried out on the material.
The tests are the industry standard for this type of material and comply with the criteria stipulated in
ASTM.
