& speech delivery
2.I can understand the types of speech
delivery
3.I can apply the speech conventions in
creating a speech
Speech development is an important part
of learning. When a person learns to speak
correctly at an early age they are more
likely to easily comprehend reading,
writing and less related topics like math
and science. Learning to speak and
understanding language is an essential
part of brain development.
the expression of or the ability to express thoughts and feelings by
articulate sounds.

refers to the presentation of the speech you have

researched, organized, outlined, and practiced. Delivery is
important, of course, because it is what is most immediate to
the audience. Delivery relies on both verbal communication
and nonverbal communication.
❑Delivery can communicate your
confidence and preparedness to your
audience.
❑Effective delivery shows your audience
that you have researched your topic and
understand what you are speaking about.
An effective delivery allows you to pull
it all together—to showcase your work
and to speak with confidence during
your delivery.
Memorized
Involves committing your entire speech to
memory.

❑Takes time to memorize.

❑Cannot get a feedback from the audience.
Example: The Builders by Henry W.
Longfellow, memorized poem/speech in the
classroom
Manuscript
Involves reading your speech word-for-word from
its written form.

❑ Prevents eye contact.

Example: There are Loyal Hearts by
Madeline S. Bridges, Public officials
speaking at conferences, and their speech
being telecast, is a pertinent example.,
Impromptu
Impromptu means ‘not rehearsed”.

• Involves speaking “off the cuff” usually for

relatively short time.
• No time for preparation since it is on the
spot.
Examples: Graft and corruption, K-12
Program, on the spot recitation, interview
Extemporaneous
Speech delivered with some prepared
structure, such as notes or an outline but
delivered “off the cuff”.

• It sounds more natural and controversial which

will help hold and keep audience attention.
Example: Graduation speech, speech on social
issues
Tone refers to the mood or feeling the speaker creates.
Setting Sometimes the tone is set by the occasion. For example,
speaking at a wedding and speaking at a funeral require
the Tone different tones, and these tones are determined more by the
situation than by the speaker.

Let’s Save our LIFE!
Earth is the only planet where human life is possible. Every requirement of human can be fulfilled here. But we
are not bothered about our planet. In this 21st century everybody wants to buy everything. Nobody is now
bothered about betterment of society or satisfying everyone’s need. Everyone is busy with maintaining social
standards.

The development is taking place rapidly and making humans life easier. But that really doesn’t give the
authority to humans to spoil Earth. Waste is dumped in rivers or in other water bodies which is affecting the
aquatic life. Also the technology is getting higher and the radiation in the air getting extreme high which is
affecting birds. Some migrating birds forget their ways. Some cannot see anything and so on. Trees are chopped
off which is making forests limited and hard survival for wild animals and birds.
Why it is hard to get the fact? If we won’t take care of nature now then it will be only us or our future
generation which will suffer a lot. Our survival is impossible within nature. By affecting the nature we are
affecting our lives. Development is important in today’s world but then nature is also important. There will be
no logic of development when humans won’t be staying alive to use them.
At last of my speech I just want to say it’s high time. There is no logic in taking nature for granted. Don’t harm
nature because at last you are harming yourself.
