Religious freedom and rights

Anaya shahid
Assalam-o-Alikum esteemed judges, Today I am
going to talk about religious freedom and rights. So
first of all, what is religious freedom? Religious
freedom is a human right, in fact, it goes to the
heart of what it means to be a human, to think
freely, to follow our conscience, and to express our
beliefs in public and private. we have the right to
follow and practice our beliefs as long as we don’t
harm others in any way. We can show our faith in
various ways:
Religious freedom and rights

 By wearing religious clothes.

 By talking about our faith with others.
 By Taking part in religious worship.
It was written by Thomas Jefferson on January 16,
1786, but why, what was the reason for it? before
there were a lot of fights based on religion in the
world, people weren't given their religious rights,
there was inequality and people would be often
tortured and killed if they did not follow the
religion approved by the government. The law
protects freedom of religion in two ways
 It forbids the government to establish and
sponsor any faith which is also known as the
Establishment Clause.
 Protects the right of people to practice their
faith through the free exercise clause.

government may limit religious freedom – but only when it has
a “compelling interest” to do so in order to protect the common
good and limit people’s ability to harm others.
violates the law of murder and it cannot be excused because of
religion.
How might life be different for you without freedom of religion?

religion? Even after establishing this law, many people have to
fight for their religious beliefs. People should study the issue
and speak up with courage when facing these issues this was the
reason the laws to protect the religion were first established.
Freedom of religion is very important and shouldn't be ignored.
