Library science is the field of study that teaches how to manage books and other information,

About The Department
Agriculture education plays an important role in the overall development of the country. Agriculture is a
highly interdisciplinary subject and requires an updated curriculum as per latest changes. The University
regularly updates its syllabus and adopts standards of excellence in its course and curriculum as
recommended by ICAR. University imparts education in different branches of Agriculture, particularly
Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetic, Soil Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Plant Pathology, Agricultural
Engineering, Extension Educational, Entomology, Animal Husbandry, Microbiology, Physiology,
Biotechnology, Basic science and other allied branches and their in equal emphasis for both theory as
well as practical. The students will be assigned to village farms during the last semester of their course
in order to have agriculture field experience and interaction with the farmer i.e., Rural Agriculture Work

Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any
country. Presently, the country faces a demand – supply mismatch, as the economy needs more
‘skilled’ workforce than that is available. In the higher education sphere, knowledge and skills are
required for diverse forms of employment in the sectors of education, health care, manufacturing and
other services.
Government of India, taking note of the requirement for skill development among students, launched
National Vocational Education Qualification Framework (NVEQF) which was later on assimilated into
National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). Various Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) are developing
Qualification Packs (QPs), National Occupational Standards (NOSs) and assessment mechanisms in

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher

About The Department

evidence of yoga is stone seals of around 3000 BC depicting yoga poses. We can today divide the
history of yoga into four periods. The Vedas arethe sacred scriptures of Brahmanism,modern day
Hinduism’s basis. The Vedas contains the oldest known yogic teaching; hence, such teachings are called
Vedic yoga. The creation of the 200 Nos. of Upanishads marks the pre classical yoga. The Upanishads
describe the inner vision of reality resulting from devotion to Brahman. These explain the teachings of
Vedas further. Around 500 BC, the Bhagavad geeta or Lord`s song came up. Currently scholars take this
as the oldest known yoga scripture. The creation of the yoga sutras by Patanjali Post classical yoga
differs from those of previous periods since it focuses more in the present. It no longer strives to
liberate a person from reality but rather one to accept it and live at the moment.
