All lives matter. Adopt, Rescue and Love forever.

Introduction
People felt uncertain and got so many economic problems cause by pandemic. Previous
research has demonstrated the positive effects of owning a dog or cat on one's psychological
health. Human-animal relationships may lessen depression and anxiety, particularly when
people spend a lot of time at home.

Animals are an integral part of daily life, whether at home, on the farm, or at the dinner
table. People have regarded dogs as one of their closest friends throughout history. Some
claim that dogs perform the widest range of tasks, including those of defender, assistant,
lifeline, and companion. Dogs make incredible friends for people and have been comrades for
hundreds of years. Despite the significance of animals in our lives, there are still people who
would harm them.

Some common motivations for acts of animal abuse are form of amusement or “shock value”
(common with youth), Unmanaged emotions resulting in behaviors directed at animals
(anger/rage), Prejudicial behaviors towards a particular species (example: “cat haters”)
retaliation towards an animal or person.

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) receives reports of roughly 40 instances
of animal abuse, however these incidents go unpunished because there are no effective
sanctions for animal abuse. The Republic Act No. 10631, also known as AN ACT AMENDING
CERTAIN SECTIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8485, was finalized on the 23rd of July 2012. AKA
"THE ANIMAL WELFARE ACT OF 1998". The law encouraged many people, particularly animal
owners, to treat their pets with kindness and respect as though they were members of their
own families.

Not only human are affected by he pandemic, animals are also affected, particularly
those without a place to reside. Animals suffered from the pandemic's socioeconomic effects
as well as adopting some virus. The pandemic brought to light the lethal consequences of
animal exploitation as well. In order to stop future pandemics, experts caution that h umans
must radically alter our connection with animals, particularly farm and wild animals.

Purpose

1
The major goals of the advocacy are to increase public awareness in animals and to
motivate individuals to donate to animal welfare organizations. The goal of Republic Act No.
8485, officially known as "THE ANIMAL PROTECTION ACT OF 1998," is to supervise and
control the establishments and operations of all facilities used for breeding, maintaining,
housing, handling, or training of all animals, whether as objects of trade or as household pets.
The health of an animal depends on meeting both its physical and emotional demands.
Advocates for animal rights concur that nonhuman animals should be treated gently and
without excessive brutality. A logical animal that is capable of love and social interactions can
experience pressure, anxiety, and despair. It must also come to an end. Animal cruelty is a
problem all over the world, so this advocacy was done to help reduce this issue, which affects
people all around the world. Over 200 cats and dogs have experienced cruelty, neglect, and
misery, according to the PARC. Adopting a dog instead of purchasing one will be better for
the nation's economy and the Philippine Animal Rehabilitation Center. Every money that is
placed in the contribution box that the team has placed on each of the restaurant's tables is
crucial.

Description
The major objective of the advocacy is to educate the people about what are the current
state of animal shelters in the Philippines today and to assist Animal Center in many ways,
such as with food and finances. Our advocacy has only one goal: to finish what it started
successfully and serve as an example to others as an advocacy that helped a lot of animals
and shelters. The planned strategy to accomplish the objective is fundraising. Cans containing
information on stray dogs will be placed at each sari-sari store or canteen in our locality. The
bridge to saving the lives of some stray dogs will be this petition. Additionally, the crew will
assist in transporting pets found on the road to animal shelters. Clearly, this advocacy will
benefit not just the dogs but the other neglected animals such as cat in a number of ways.
The dog or cat will live better lives in the shelter because they will have access to all of their
needs auch as food, shelter and other commodities. There is a good chance that they will be
adopted. This activism won't just help this shelter; it will also aid the other shelters, and it will
motivate others to start their own campaigns to save the lives of homeless animals.

Support
The team would like to ask for your financial support in order to create this advocacy in
the name of making animals live happier lives because there might not be enough money to

be collected on each can and the restaurant's sales. The proposed budget for the project is
80-100 thousand pesos, which includes the dogs' food, supplements, and other needs. If it
comes from the heart, any amount will do, and we will be eternally thankful. There will only
be one advocacy for animal health and rights to spread the message to the general public
that we should always treat animals with respect. I hope others will support and join the
advocacy.

Republic Act No. 8485, also known as "THE ANIMAL PROTECTION ACT OF 1998," plays a critical role by establishing guidelines to oversee and regulate facilities engaging in breeding, housing, and training animals, ensuring they are treated with care and respect. However, despite this legal framework, enforcement is challenging due to insufficient penalties and monitoring, as evidenced by the many unaddressed animal abuse reports received by organizations like PAWS . Additionally, lack of awareness and economic resources further complicate the effective implementation of such laws .

Socio-economic constraints, such as limited resources and financial difficulties exacerbated by the pandemic, significantly impact animal welfare advocacy by hindering resources available for shelters and limiting public donations. Proposed solutions include fundraising efforts such as placing donation cans at local establishments, encouraging the community to provide material support, and promoting the economic benefits of pet adoption over purchasing. These strategies aim to engage the public better and leverage community resources to support animal welfare initiatives .

During crises like pandemics, human-animal relationships can significantly reduce psychological stress by alleviating feelings of depression and anxiety. Owning pets, particularly dogs or cats, provides companionship and emotional support, which can be crucial when individuals spend prolonged periods at home. This positive relationship helps people navigate emotional challenges by providing a sense of normalcy and routine .

Animal adoption and welfare advocacy is crucial in the Philippines due to the socio-economic challenges amplified by the pandemic. It addresses the plight of homeless animals, improves public awareness about the state of animal shelters, and motivates financial and material support for their sustenance. Initiatives like placing donation boxes and fostering adoption instead of purchasing pets can strengthen the economy by minimizing commercial breeding and promoting community involvement in animal care. This advocacy also inspires others to start similar initiatives, thus creating a ripple effect of positive change throughout the community .

Ethically, including animals as part of family life involves recognizing their rights to be treated with kindness, respect, and consideration for their well-being, akin to family members. Historically, dogs have been seen as loyal companions and defenders, assisting humans in various roles, highlighting a mutual relationship of trust and support. This perspective stresses the reciprocal benefits of such bonds, underlining the importance of humane treatment and the ethical duty to protect animals from harm or neglect .

Advocacy work addresses animal cruelty by raising awareness, educating the public about the importance of compassion for animals, and mobilizing community support for animal welfare institutions. The document highlights strategic measures like fundraising through donation cans at local businesses, rescuing and transporting stray animals to shelters, and emphasizing community involvement to support shelters financially and materially. These efforts are designed to reduce incidents of cruelty and improve the quality of life for neglected animals, eventually leading to societal changes in how animals are treated .

Advocates might face challenges such as a lack of funding, limited public awareness, insufficient volunteers, and logistical issues in implementing animal welfare projects. These can be overcome by conducting extensive outreach to gather community support, securing partnerships with local businesses for fundraising, leveraging social media for wider awareness and engagement, and creating volunteer networks to support different aspects of the project. Encouraging community involvement through education and emphasizing the mutual benefits of animal welfare can further mitigate these challenges .

Increased public awareness and participation in animal welfare issues promote a more humane and compassionate society. This awareness leads to better treatment of animals, decreases incidents of cruelty, and enhances community well-being by fostering empathy and social responsibility. Participatory actions like adoption, volunteering, or donations improve the welfare of animals and encourage social cohesion and collective responsibility. Over time, these efforts contribute to a cultural shift towards ethical practices and improved moral standards in human-animal relationships .

The advocacy aims to create long-term positive impacts by enhancing public awareness, improving animal welfare standards, and fostering a culture of compassion towards animals. By motivating individuals to adopt rather than purchase pets, and by supporting shelters, the advocacy strives to reduce animal suffering and promote joyful animal-human interactions. Further, it seeks to inspire more people to initiate similar campaigns, thereby sustaining the advocacy's influence and gradually integrating humane treatment of animals into societal norms .

The pandemic has severely impacted both humans and animals economically and socially. For humans, it resulted in increased psychological stress and economic issues. For animals, particularly those without homes, the pandemic increased their vulnerability due to socioeconomic strains and exposure to viruses. This situation highlights the consequences of exploiting animals, emphasizing the need to radically alter our relationship with animals, especially farm and wild animals, to prevent future pandemics .
