March 2024: Grief, Restoration, and God’s Sovereignty

Friday, March 1
Daily Verse: “The Lord is in the right, for I have rebelled against his word; but hear, all you
peoples, and see my suffering; my young women and my young men have gone into
captivity.” Lamentations 1:18a (ESV)
Daily Devo: The Book of Lamentations is a collection of highly structured and emotionally
powerful poems that lament Jerusalem’s destruction. Chapter 1 describes Jerusalem’s
ruins.
Jerusalem is portrayed as a weeping widow who has lost everything and everyone (v.1). No
matter how hard or how long Jerusalem weeps, there is no one to comfort her (v.2).
Jerusalem has become a slave, living in exile with no permanent home (v.3). A
once-bustling, prosperous city is now completely empty and desolate while her enemies
prosper (vs. 4-5). All her friends and allies have betrayed her, and she sits in complete
isolation (vs. 6-8). She cries out to Yahweh and to anyone who passes by, asking them to
notice how severely God has dealt with her because of her sins (vs. 9-17). But eventually,
she comes back to Yahweh and acknowledges that she is guilty and that He is righteous
(vs. 18-22).
We, as humans, are prone to questioning God’s justice. We admire God’s character as
loving and good but often fail to appreciate His holiness and justice. However,
Lamentations 1:18a is a clear affirmation of the righteousness and justice of God,
demonstrating His holiness in judgment and wrath toward those who rebel against His
word.
Today, as you read and pray, recognize the seriousness of sin and grieve. Amid tears and
grief, remember the joy of your salvation and your hope in Jesus. Rejoice in the truth
that if you confess your sins, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse
you from all unrighteousness.

Daily Challenge: Make it a habit to always ask the Lord to make you aware of the
seriousness of your sins.
Daily Verse: “Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the night watches! Pour out
your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of
your children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.” Lamentations 2:19 (ESV)
Daily Devo: In Lamentations 2, Jerusalem weeps under God’s judgment. The once-glorious
city lies defiled, its walls broken, and its splendor stripped away (vs. 1-8). God has turned
his back on them, sending famine and violence as punishment for their sins (vs. 5, 17).
Even their leaders mourn, witnessing the suffering of their people (vs. 8-9). Yet, amidst
the lament, a flicker of hope emerges. The people cry out to God, acknowledging their
transgressions and pleading for his mercy (vs. 18-19). While judgment is just, they look for
his compassion and the restoration of their city (vs. 17, 22).

Daily Verse: “For the Lord will not cast off forever, but, though he cause grief, he will have

his heart or grieve the children of men.” Lamentations 3:31-33 (ESV)

Daily Verse: “Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, you who dwell in the land of Uz;
but to you also the cup shall pass; you shall become drunk and strip yourself bare. The
punishment of your iniquity, O daughter of Zion, is accomplished; he will keep you in exile
no longer; but your iniquity, O daughter of Edom, he will punish; he will uncover your sins.”
Lamentations 4:21-22 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Lamentations 4 talks about the dark days during the siege of Jerusalem. It
mentions the severe economic state at the time, with issues such as the children
experiencing starvation (v.4), people of rank reduced to poverty (vs. 5, 8), and the
gruesome practice of cannibalism (v.10). Even worse, those responsible for teaching the
law were among the worst violators. (vs. 11-13). God permitted suffering as punishment
for their sins.
The story highlights God’s sovereignty and mercifulness. As the Father, He has the power to
bring His children to repentance. Though suffering was present, God showed that His
mercies are new each day by giving the people a chance to repent and turn away from sin.
He brought them to desperation so that they might understand that all those fortunes and
desires would be nothing without Him. The chapter concluded with God marking the end of
struggles in Jerusalem and a message of judgment for those who rejoice in the nation’s
downfall.
Similar to life situations, you may question why God allows suffering. The answer? It’s
because of His great love for you. Your experiences are used by God to teach you valuable
lessons that will draw you closer to Him. Through these things, you realize that you are
sinful humans, and you need to keep a heart of repentance. His mercy waters the seeds
of struggle, allowing restoration to bloom. Your efforts would not save you. So, when
you might feel that you have no control over bad things, you need to seek Him even more.
Daily Verse: “Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of
old.” Lamentations 5:21 (ESV)

Daily Challenge: Are you brokenhearted? Do you feel that you are so far from God and you
feel that He can’t love you anymore? Take a moment to sincerely open your heart to the
Lord. Approach Him with anticipation and hope.
Daily Verse: “Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was
the appearance of the brightness all around.” Ezekiel 1:28a (ESV)
Daily Devo: In Ezekiel Chapter 1, the prophet recounts a vision during King Jehoiachin’s
exile (vs. 1-3). He vividly describes seeing four living creatures in a whirlwind from the
north, each with four faces: human, lion, ox, and eagle, with four wings. (vs. 4-14). Ezekiel,
too, describes wheels within wheels. Above these wheels, he sees a throne with the likeness
of a man seated upon it, surrounded by a shining brilliance (vs. 15-28). The chapter ends
with Ezekiel overwhelmed, describing the glory of the Lord (vs. 27-28).
It is amazing to be reminded of his reaction when he realizes what he sees. In verse 28, it
says that Ezekiel falls on his face. It’s the proper response when encountering the one true
God. Ezekiel was amazed to be worthy and not die as he saw God’s presence.
Let us learn to respect and honor God in our daily lives. When you think about how
amazing God is, you should humble yourself and show Him reverence. It is not only by
kneeling or raising hands that you can show reverence to Him. It is as simple as giving Him
time in your busy schedule. It also comes from obeying His words. Take time to think about
how great God is and thank Him for His kindness. Remember how Ezekiel reacted when he
saw God’s glory? He felt honored and amazed. We should feel the same way when we
think about how incredible God is.
Daily Challenge: Take some moments to marvel at the greatness of God! Set aside your
prayer needs and daily plans. Practice finding joy in quiet moments with Him.
Daily Verse: “And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, nor be afraid of their words,
though briers and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions. Be not afraid of their
words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house. And you shall speak
my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house. ‘But
you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Be not rebellious like that rebellious house; open
your mouth and eat what I give you.’” Ezekiel 2:6-8 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Chapter 2 describes how Ezekiel was empowered by the Spirit of the Lord to
fulfill his calling (v.2). His mission was to be God’s messenger, a prophet to the people of
Israel who rebelled against God (v.3). He was responsible for delivering the complete
word of the Lord. God commanded Ezekiel not to be afraid (v.6), for Israel would refuse
him (v.7). Ezekiel was called at a desperate time, and his calling meant that many would
reject the Word of the Lord (v.8). His ministry’s success is solely dependent on his
obedience to speak the Word of God, not on men receiving it. Chapter 3 added that his
calling includes that of a watchman, which meant that he would be accountable for giving
warnings to the people of Israel (vs. 17-19). In mercy and grace, God sent Ezekiel.
We can see that Ezekiel’s call came first from the Lord; it was for a specific purpose and a
certain group of people. Whether Israel receives the Word or not is not his responsibility.
But rather, his complete obedience to God, for He equipped Ezekiel to do the mission with
His Spirit. His encounter with Yahweh laid the foundation for his calling.
It is also true for you and me. Remember that you are called to faithfully share God’s word
with the people, not to add to it or withhold the gospel from those whom God has
entrusted to you. Also, the spreading of the good news is not just for those who are up on
stage, but also for everyone who loves Jesus. May you be courageous enough to speak
the Word of the Lord to your respective homes, workplaces, cities, and beyond.
This, too, is a divine calling.

Daily Challenge: Memorize and meditate on Matthew 28:19-20. Offer yourself to God
and worship him with the song “Have All of Me” by AWAKE84
Daily Verse: “And you, son of man, take a brick and lay it before you, and engrave on it a
city, even Jerusalem. And put siegeworks against it, and build a siege wall against it, and
cast up a mound against it. Set camps also against it, and plant battering rams against it
all around. And you, take an iron griddle, and place it as an iron wall between you and the
city; and set your face toward it, and let it be in a state of siege, and press the siege
against it. This is a sign for the house of Israel.” Ezekiel 4:1-3 (ESV)
Daily Devo: God gave Ezekiel a symbol of Jerusalem’s siege, and God instructed him to lie
down on his left side to bear Israel’s sin for 390 days and on his right side to bear Judah’s
sin for 40 days, one day for each year. God tied him up with ropes to prevent him from
turning from one side to the other until he had completed his siege. He stored sprouted
grains in a jar to make bread for himself for 390 days, with 200g of food to eat and 600
ml of water to drink daily (vs. 1-11). In Jerusalem, God cut off the supply of food, resulting
in rationed food in anxiety and drinking rationed water in despair because food and water
would be scarce (vs. 16-17).
Siege is a situation in which people are surrounded by someone with more physical or
spiritual power than them, who torments them on multiple occasions. Ezekiel was
spiritually strong because of God. God attacked Israel’s need to recognize their
weaknesses and surrender to Him. He uses this scarcity to humble them, for they’re
stubborn and proud. Ezekiel lies down in submission, letting go and letting God so that
hard people will be grounded and gentle with God.
More than just physical positioning, this “lying down” symbolizes surrender. Imagine
submitting to the weight of judgment, trustingly resting in God’s sovereignty even amidst
hardship. As the siege wall rises, Ezekiel’s position whispers a powerful message:
true security lies not in fighting back, but in bowing low before the Lord,
entrusting your battles to His hands. This act encourages you to face life’s challenges
with open hearts and surrendered spirits, finding true hope in the power of God’s
intervention.
Written by Avea
Daily Challenge: For 15 minutes, take your time to assess your heart in front of God to see
if you are still in full dependence on Him. Pray and journal God’s message for you.
Daily Verse: “You shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations
all around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and fury, and with furious
rebukes—I am the Lord; I have spoken.” Ezekiel 5:15 (ESV)
Daily Devo: In Ezekiel 5:1-17, God instructs the prophet to perform a symbolic act
representing Jerusalem’s coming judgment. He shaves his head and beard, dividing the
hair into three parts (vs. 1-2). One part is burned, symbolizing those destroyed by fire
(v.2). Another part is sliced with a sword, representing those slain in battle (v.2). The final
part is scattered to the wind, symbolizing those exiled from the land (v.2). This visual
prophecy emphasizes the harsh reality of divine judgment. Yet, a glimmer of hope
remains. God preserves a small portion of the hair, tied in the prophet’s skirt (v.3). This
remnant signifies those who will survive and ultimately return to the land (vs. 3, 17). While
judgment falls due to disobedience, God’s mercy allows for a future restoration.
Ang pinaka-main-role talaga ni Ezekiel is to do what God wants Him to do so that the
people of Israel will see God’s anger for their sins. While Ezekiel prophesies the impending
judgment upon Jerusalem and the people of Israel for their sins, there are also promises of
restoration. Even in judgment, there is hope for restoration for those who repent and turn
back to God.
Faced with the harsh realities depicted by Ezekiel’s symbolic haircut, we can find both
accountability and hope. Just like the divided hair represents the impact of our choices,
ignoring consequences won’t make them disappear.
Yet, even amidst loss
and setbacks, we must remember the “preserved hair” within that spark of hope, that
resilient spirit waiting to be nurtured. It symbolizes the potential for renewal,
reminding us that God’s mercy offers the possibility of rebuilding, even when
things seem broken. It’s never too late to seek forgiveness, mend relationships, and
work toward a brighter future.

March 2024: Grief, Restoration, and God’s Sovereignty
10
Sunday, March 10
Daily Verse: “The king mourns, the prince is wrapped in despair, and the hands of the
people of the land are paralyzed by terror. According to their way I will do to them, and
according to their judgments I will judge them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Ezekiel 7:27 (ESV)
Daily Devo: God uses the prophet Ezekiel to deliver a stern warning to the idolatrous
Israelites in chapters 6 and 7. He calls their devotion to false gods an abomination
deserving of judgment and slams them in Ezekiel 6:2-3. The sacred sites and the collapse
of their sacred idols foretell impending doom (vs. 4-6). The land will be devastated as a
result of the sword, starvation, and pestilence (7:12-15). The people will be terrified,
leaders will weep, and the wise will be put to silence (vs. 26-27). Ezekiel 6:7, 7:27 states
that the ultimate goal of this punishment is to make people realize who God really is.
Ezekiel 7:27 speaks of the consequences of disobedience and the judgement of God to the
people.
Sinabi sa verse na “according to their way, I will do to them,” eto ay nangangahulugan na
In the end, His aim is for us to
continually see who He is and experience His power.

Daily Verse: “As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will bring their deeds
upon their heads.” Ezekiel 9:10 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel’s chapter 8 tells us how God came upon him through a vision. He saw a
figure resembling a man, the waist down like fire, and a glowing metal from the waist up
(v.2). Additionally, God revealed to Ezekiel the idols of jealousy and all the repulsive and
evil deeds that the elders of the house of Israel were witnessing (vs. 4-11). The elders even
worshipped their idols, with women mourning and bowing down to the sun in the east (vs.
12-16). The people of Judah filled their land with violence and wickedness that provoked
God to anger. God was so angry that He sent out guards with weapons (9:1-2). God
instructed the man in a linen cloth to put a mark on the forehead of those who grieve and
lament (v.4). God ordered the guard and the man dressed in linen to eliminate and
slaughter all who were marked (vs. 5-6). Ezekiel asked God if He was going to destroy all
the remnants due to His anger (v.8), to which God said He would not spare anyone
because of their evil deeds (v.10).
One of the scariest things is when God gets angry because we keep doing the wrong
things. Even though we know our actions are wrong, we still do them repeatedly. But
because God loves you so much and is very forgiving, He sends His only Son, Jesus, to pay
for your mistakes. Without Jesus’ sacrifices, your life will be meaningless. Strive to be
among those marked by genuine sorrow, turning back to the true light and finding hope in
His unfailing grace. Within this darkness, a glimmer of hope shines through. Even in wrath,
God remembers mercy. He remembers you.
Daily Challenge: Spend time reflecting on His grace and mercy in your life. If God is
prompting you to repent of a certain sin, take this time to humbly ask for forgiveness.
Daily Verse: “And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will
remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may
walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I
will be their God.” Ezekiel 11:19-20 (ESV)
Daily Devo: In Ezekiel 10, the glory of God leaves the Jerusalem temple, symbolized by a
magnificent chariot drawn by powerful creatures (vs. 1-19). This departure signifies God’s
judgment upon the city’s sinfulness. However, a glimmer of hope remains: a voice declares
God’s presence will return when hearts turn back to Him (v.22). Chapter 11 builds on this
hope. God promises to gather the scattered Israelites and cleanse them, planting His spirit
within them (vs. 17-20). A new covenant will be established, replacing hearts of stone with
hearts of flesh, sensitive to God’s will (vs. 19-20). Though judgment precedes, ultimately,
God aims to restore and renew His people, offering a future guided by His presence and
law (vs. 22-25).
Our hearts can become callous because of sin. Madaling magbingi-bingihan sa Kanyang
tawag at paalala.
In Ezekiel 11:19-20, God makes a profound promise. He vows to swap stubborn hearts of
stone for receptive ones of flesh, breathing new life and obedience into his people. He is
ready to do the same for you. He really is making ways for you to come to Him. Although
sin and resistance may harden your heart, God desires to transform you from within,
allowing you to experience His love and live according to His will. Hindi ba sapat na iyon
upang magpatuloy ka papalapit sa Kanya?

Daily Challenge: List down the events in your life that you see chances from God.
Daily Verse: “Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to
see, but see not, who have ears to hear, but hear not, for they are a rebellious house.”
Ezekiel 12:2 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 12 talks about God’s power and warns about rebellion (vs. 1-16). It
mentions Jerusalem’s fall but also shows signs of mercy as God sends Ezekiel to guide the
people (vs. 17-28). Chapter 13 talks about false prophets who trick people and don’t
follow God’s messages (vs. 1-16). They do what they want instead of what God says. God
shows their lies and says they will be responsible for their actions (vs. 17-23). Ezekiel 14
unfolds with pronouncements of God’s “four dreadful judgments”—sword, famine, wild
beasts, and plague–on Jerusalem (vs. 1-23). However, a spark of hope ignites. God
declares a remnant will be spared, serving as a living testament to both the gravity of
their actions and His enduring presence (vs. 22-23).
In a world where some people lie to get what they want, it’s important to know what’s true.
False prophets might pretend to speak for God, but really they just want something for
themselves.
You should be careful and check if what they say matches what God’s Word says. The Bible
tells you to watch out for these tricky people, so you need to stay close to God and His
teachings. By praying, reading the Bible, and listening to the Holy Spirit, you can stay
away from lies and live in God’s truth. Stick to what the Bible says, because God’s truth is
stronger than any lie.

have despised the oath in breaking the covenant, yet I will remember my covenant with
you in the days of your youth, and I will establish for you an everlasting covenant.” Ezekiel
16:59-60 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 15 uses a symbolic vine parable to convey the terrible reality of Israel’s
worthlessness. That’s how God sees Israel, warning them their potential is wasted and
judgment awaits (vs. 1-8). Chapter 16 continues with a dramatic scene: Israel as a
beautiful but unfaithful wife, adorned but straying from God (vs. 1-15). Her worship of
other gods, like adultery, breaks their sacred bond, leading to shame and exile (vs.
16-44). But even in anger, God holds out a hand. He promises to keep their agreement if
they confess their mistakes and come back to Him (vs. 40-63).
Ezekiel 16:59-60 both contain a consequence and a promise. Throughout this book, we
see Israel constantly breaking their covenant with God. Disobeying God and breaking their
covenant will bring judgment. But we also see a loving, just, merciful, and faithful God.
This everlasting covenant signifies His enduring love and forgiveness.
Knowing God loves us doesn’t give us a ticket to do whatever we want. Remember the
Israelites? Even though God stayed true to His promises, they still faced consequences for
their wrongdoings. We must take His warnings seriously and choose to follow in His
footsteps.
Sometimes, it’s easy to resist God’s guidance or feel overwhelmed by correction. But
remember, His actions aren’t fueled by anger but by His love for you, even when you mess
up. Instead of clinging to temporary pleasures on earth, embrace His guidance. These
worldly things lose their sparkle compared to the everlasting gifts He promises
to you.

Daily Challenge: Which part of the daily verse speaks to you? Write down God’s message
in your journal.
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 17 uses a parable of two eagles to explain Judah’s political situation
(vs. 1-10). The first eagle, representing Babylon, takes a branch from Lebanon
(Jerusalem) and plants it in a fertile land, symbolizing Judah’s initial prosperity under
Babylonian rule (vs. 3-8). However, Judah breaks their pledge and seeks help from Egypt
(the second eagle), which angers Babylon and leads to their destruction (vs. 9-18).
Chapter 18 shifts the focus to individual responsibility. God emphasizes a central principle:
each person is judged based on their actions, not their ancestors’ (vs. 1-4). Righteous
descendants of wicked parents won’t suffer for their parents’s sins, and wicked offspring of
righteous parents won’t escape their wrongdoings (vs. 10-20). However, there’s room for
change: if someone turns from evil to good, they will find life, demonstrating God’s desire
for personal repentance and renewal (vs. 21-23).
But he who turns from his wicked ways, repents, and turns to God shall live. It is not about
the sins of his past or even the curses from his ancestors and generations. God shows
mercy and compassion to whomever He chooses.
Often, we carry the burden of past mistakes, believing your ancestors’ choices or your own
missteps define your future. But hear these words, God declares: your past doesn’t
determine your destiny. Living righteously isn’t a one-time event; it’s a continual journey.
You stumble, you falter, and yet, God offers this truth: you can choose a new path today.
It’s never too late to turn towards His light, embrace His guidance, and find the strength to
walk faithfully.

Daily Challenge: In what areas of your life do you show pride? Write a journal today, share
your takeaways from this devo, pray, repent to God, and ask the Holy Spirit to give you
grace to be humble.
Daily Verse: “And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I deal with you for my name’s
sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of
Israel, declares the Lord God.” Ezekiel 20:44 (ESV)
Daily Devo: In Ezekiel 19, the Lord reveals His heart for the Israelites through two parables.
Both parables gave an overview of Yahweh’s righteous anger toward His chosen people
due to the impertinent disobedience of Israel and its last few kings. Ezekiel 20 continues to
prophesy about the Lord’s fury because the Israelites dishonored Yahweh by clinging to
their false gods and idols. Then, Ezekiel 21 demonstrates that the Lord’s main intent in
these parables and prophecies is for His people to share the same broken heart He had for
His people who continue to live an idolatrous lifestyle (vs. 6-7). This is why, despite Israel’s
sinful lifestyle, He has dealt with Israel’s sin based on His faithfulness.
The Lord commands that we love Him above all else. Loving anything that takes God’s
place in your heart is a sin that grieves Him. If you are unsure whether you are doing
something that grieves God, ask Him to reveal it to you. If you are feeling empty in your
relationship with Christ, ask Him to fill you with His righteousness. The only way for you to
be whole again is to let God break you over and over. It is in the breaking and grieving
that God restores you in your walk with Him.
Do not delay in surrendering your compromises and hidden sins to the Lord today. One
day, you will look back and see that He has been sovereign all along because He has dealt
with you “not according to your evil ways, but for His name’s sake.”
Daily Challenge: Ask the Lord to reveal anything you hold onto that breaks His heart, and
journal your thoughts about God’s revelations.

light and seek forgiveness and restoration?

March 2024: Grief, Restoration, and God’s Sovereignty
17
Sunday, March 17
Daily Verse: “And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand
in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.” Ezekiel
22:30 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 22 rings out with God’s fiery condemnation of Jerusalem. The city, rife
with injustice, idolatry, and violence, faces imminent judgment (vs. 1-16). Leaders exploit
the vulnerable, prophets mislead, and bloodshed stains the streets (vs. 13, 25, 27). While
the outlook seems bleak, a glimmer of hope remains: God seeks someone righteous to
stand in the gap and promises to preserve a remnant faithful to him (vs. 30, 31). Chapter
23 tells a dramatic story about two sisters, Oholah and Oholibah, representing Judah and
Israel. Instead of following God, they worship other gods and make deals with other
countries (vs. 3-7, 16-21). As punishment, both face devastating consequences, suffering
exile and destruction at the hands of their former lovers (vs. 9-10, 22-34). Chapters 24 to
25 paint a picture of both judgment and hope. Jerusalem’s destruction looms, symbolized
by a boiling pot representing the city and its corruption (24:1-14). Grief and loss are
inevitable, even for the prophet himself, who is silenced until the news arrives (24:16-27).
Yet, a remnant will survive, marked by God for protection (24:24). God promises to gather
his scattered people, cleansing and renewing them with a “new spirit” (25:13-17).
Ezekiel 22:30 shows God searching for someone to defend Jerusalem, but nobody stood
up. He sent Jesus to stand in the gap for us. Now, God seeks witnesses to warn people
about judgment and urge them to follow Him fully.
A decision lies before you. God calls you to be His voice and His presence on Earth. Pray for
others to break down barriers in their lives and invite them to God’s love. This is your
chance to witness.
You are Christ’s ambassador. You are the reflector of His Love and Glory.
Daily Challenge: Create a post in any of your social media accounts saying, “You are not
alone. I am praying for you. Jesus loves you!”
Daily Verse: “Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem, ‘Aha, the gate of the
peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid
waste.’” Ezekiel 26:2 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 26 delivers a harsh prophecy against Tyre, a prosperous city proud of
its wealth and power (vs. 2-6). God unleashes nations like battering rams to topple their
mighty walls and scrape even their foundations bare (vs. 8-12). The once bustling city will
sink beneath the waves, becoming a ghost town for fishermen to cast their nets (vs.
19-21). Tyre’s grandeur is depicted as a magnificent ship (27:1-9). Skilled craftspeople
and merchants from across the world contribute to its flourishing trade (vs. 12-24). Yet,
despite its power and beauty, this “perfect ship” faces an inevitable storm, leading to its
downfall and utter destruction (vs. 26-36). The king of Tyre is condemned for his
arrogance and pride, comparing himself to a god (28:2-5). However, his heart swelled
with self-importance, leading to his expulsion from this "garden" and ultimately
becoming like ashes (vs. 16-19).
Ezekiel 28 slams Tyre for gloating over Israel’s punishment. While Israel faced deserved
consequences, God warns there’s no room for joy in another’s suffering. It’s a call for
compassion, even when facing the consequences of our actions.
There is a saying that goes, “Maging tulad daw tayo ng isang kawayan, habang tumatas
lalo yumuyuko.” Bakit?
Your success is
all about honoring Him above all things in your hearts. You must not be like Tyre,
who has been known for being arrogant and prideful. God will tear down your pride until
you recognize Him as the Almighty and submit to His humble will.
Daily Verse: “Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because it towered high and set its top
among the clouds, and its heart was proud of its height, I will give it into the hand of a
mighty one of the nations. He shall surely deal with it as its wickedness deserves. I have
cast it out.” Ezekiel 31:10-11 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 29 serves as a warning to Pharaoh and Egypt. Fueled by arrogance and
boasting about the Nile’s power (vs. 3), they’ve become a “broken staff” for Israel,
offering unreliable support (vs. 6-7). God declares that Egypt will suffer humiliation, lose
its wealth, and end up as "the basest of kingdoms" as a consequence of their pride and
misplaced trust (vs. 14-16). God declares a sword will fall upon them, shattering their
pride and wealth (30:1-9). Egypt, once boasting of being like a dragon by the Nile (29:3),
will now have its “arm”broken, symbolizing its weakened power (30:21). The destruction
will extend beyond Egypt, engulfing surrounding nations like Cush and Libya, leaving them
desolate and filled with fear (vs. 4-8, 13-18). Comparing Pharaoh to a proud cedar felled
by God (vs. 3-14, Chapter 31 illustrates the downfall of arrogance and misplaced trust.
Chapter 32 extends the judgment to other nations that relied on earthly power over God,
warning them they would share the same fate (vs. 2-6).
The nation of Egypt is a vivid comparison to this modern world, which seeks satisfaction
from wealth, power, and influence. We look for comfort and security from other people.
Desiring earthly possessions is not wrong because we desire His blessings; however,
danger arises when we overlook God’s goodness. People disobey God because of pride
and greed. Just like in Egypt, He will humble the proud.
From the smallest to the greatest achievement in your life, may you never forget to
acknowledge God’s glory because He is the Author of all good things. Putting your
confidence in other people will only let you down. Worldly pursuits are nothing
compared to knowing God’s eternal reward for knowing Him.
Written by Refan
Daily Challenge: How often do you find yourself trusting your own “Egypt”? In times of
trouble, do you turn to people or God? In your journal, write down your response in the
form of a prayer.
Daily Verse: “Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death
of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from
your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?” Ezekiel 33:11 (ESV)
Daily Devo: God chose Ezekiel to be a watchman for the people of Israel. He should warn
them to change their ways, or else they will die. If Ezekiel failed to warn the people, he
would be responsible for their deaths (33:7-9). God also emphasizes that their past good
deeds will not save them if they sin, but He will save those who turn away from their sins
and do what is right. (v. 12-16) He also called out the leaders of Israel who abandoned
their members and abused their power (34:1-6).
In the verse above, God reveals His great desire to save wicked people from death. You can
see that He is not happy to see the wicked suffer from death, but He enjoys seeing them
turn away from their sins. Ezekiel, chosen by God as a watchman, repeatedly warned them
to turn from their sins. In our lives, God is also using people to share the gift of salvation.
They are God’s instruments for letting us know that He deeply loves us. Some people you
look up to might abandon you or scar your heart not to believe in Him, but He will use new
people who will help you restore your faith and relationship with Him.
God will continue to reach out to you. No matter how many times you ignore or refuse.
That is how God loves you. His indescribable and immeasurable love will heal every broken
part of you. Eventually, He will use you to reach out to others too.

Daily Challenge: Think of someone God used in your life to help you get to know Him. Make
a short and quick message to express your appreciation for him or her.
Daily Verse: ”Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I
have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have
spoken, and I will do it.” Ezekiel 36:36 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 35 delivers a prophecy against Mount Seir for their longstanding
animosity towards Israel (vs. 3-5). God declares their rejoicing over Jerusalem’s fall will
be short-lived (vs. 2-3). He vows to make Mount Seir desolate, turning its lush valleys and
mountains into a wasteland and eliminating its people (vs. 7-9). This judgment serves as
a warning against harboring hatred and rejoicing in another’s misfortune. God will
ultimately hold every nation accountable for their actions (vs. 10-15). Chapter 36 shows
us how great the love of God is (vs. 8-15). Despite all the unfaithfulness that the Israelites
have shown, He still chose to call them again to go back to their land with promises of
healing and restoration (vs. 26-27).
We’re all imperfect humans doing imperfect things. We always fall short of what God
wants us to do, but His love for us is always greater than the things that we have done. His
Word is our daily reminder that no situation is too desolate, which can separate us from
His love.
Yes, you are imperfect humans, but you have a perfect God who is always there to love you
no matter what. If you just choose to let Him cleanse you, you can have a new heart that is
always willing to obey His voice. Through His healing and restoration, you will be able to
give glory to His name.
Daily Challenge: Write down the things you want to let go of so you can give your best to
uphold the name of the Lord.
Daily Verse: “And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise
you from your graves, O my people. And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live,
and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have
spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.” Ezekiel 37:13-14 (ESV)
Daily Devo: The Holy Spirit led Ezekiel to the center of the bone-filled valley, where he
noticed the bones were very dry (v. 1-2). God told him to prophesy to the lifeless, dry
bones. He promised him that he would put skin and flesh on those bones. Ezekiel followed
God’s commands. First, there was a rattling sound. Once they put them together, the
bones, muscles, and flesh covered them. The bones were filled with movement, yet they
lacked the breath of life (v. 7). God instructed Ezekiel to pray, openly prophesy to the
Spirit, and call for the Spirit to come down upon people whom God’s word had touched.
Following Ezekiel’s obedient delivery of God’s message, the revived bodies came back to
life with God’s breath, and they stood. They represented the entire Israelite tribe. Through
this revival and restoration, God makes Himself known to Israel. God declared that the
united and rebuilt nation of Israel would have one king. God describes the new covenant
as both an everlasting covenant and a covenant of peace (v. 22).
Through the story of Ezekiel talking to the dry bones, God promised to help the Israelites
who were taken away from their home and bring them back. Just as God breathed life into
the lifeless bones in the valley, He promises to breathe new life into our broken situations
and despairing hearts.
What are the dry bones in your life right now? Is it a broken relationship with your parents?
Is it the shattered dreams? Instead of declaring negative things, speak life to them! God
can bring hope, unity, and new life even in the face of despair.
Written by Meah
Daily Challenge: When was the last time that you felt lifeless or drained (physically,
emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or even socially)? Read Ezekiel 37 and list down those
times in your journal. Pray to God for restoration and revival.
Daily Verse: “So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the
eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 38:23 (ESV)
Daily Devo: God asked Ezekiel to deliver a prophecy against Gog, the ruler of the land of
Magog. God’s message is that He is against Gog, but He is going to strengthen his army
and create huge allies for him (vs. 1-6). God will use Gog and his allies to wage a great
war against Israel. There will be a great earthquake that will shake all of Israel. There will
be pestilence, bloodshed, torrential rains, and hailstorms (vs. 18-22). The Lord will allow
such things to happen, so that Israel will see His greatness and know that He is the Lord. In
chapter 39, the Lord is declaring the wrathful things that He is about to do to Gog to save
Israel (vs. 1-10). God’s plan involves restoring Israel, allowing them to witness His power.
Sins taint our lives, making us feel unworthy of God’s presence. However, God does not
rely on us or our ability to remain faithful to Him. He is so powerful that what we do does
not affect His sovereignty as our God and as our ultimate defender. Also, we can never
rebel against God and triumph over Him. There is no great force that could stand against
the certainty of God’s divine victory.
You may be going through a time in your life wherein you do not seem to feel God’s
presence; you feel anxious, troubled, afraid, or doubtful. But remember, your present
situation does not change God’s goodness and greatness. He is still in control. You only
have to surrender to Him and call on His name to help you out of the difficult situation
you’re in. He can restore you with His sovereign power and love. And when you are on His
side, God promises that you will be victorious!
Daily Challenge: Write down your troubles and worries for the day, and offer God a prayer
of thanksgiving for the things He is about to do in these areas.

March 2024: Grief, Restoration, and God’s Sovereignty
24
Sunday, March 24
Daily Verse: And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your
ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order
that I might show it to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.” Ezekiel 40:4
(ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 40 describes the vision of a new, grand temple in Israel. Verses 1-4
stated that it happened on the 25th year of their exile, at the beginning of the year, on the
10th day of the month, and on the 14th year after the fall of Jerusalem. He saw the vision
on top of a high mountain and wanted to share it with the entire house of Israel. Verses
5-49 describe the new temple’s detailed measurements in terms of its walls, courts, gates,
and so on.
Ezekiel ascended a high mountain and beheld a vision of a city to the south. In verse 4, he
learned that he was intentionally brought there to witness God’s grand plan of restoration
for the house of Israel. Despite their transgressions, God is not abandoning his people. The
vision was a detailed description of what the temple would look like, showcasing his
attention to detail and sovereignty.
How are you doing at the moment? How is life treating you so far? Are you experiencing
pain, sadness, the loss of a loved one or a job, an existential crisis, or spiritual
disorientation? Sometimes, it is very difficult to answer these kinds of questions because so
much is happening around you and your head is full of chaos. It feels like nothing is
happening in your life right now, or perhaps you have no one to share your burdens with
and feel like you are alone. You are not alone. Please bear this in mind: God is never
absent in all of what is happening in your life because God is lovingly and patiently
waiting for you to come to Him to give you rest and restore you.
Written by Weng
Daily Challenge: Challenge yourself to be still in the Presence of God today. Sit back
comfortably in your chair, hands on your lap, and close your eyes. Remove any thoughts,
start breathing in slowly, and exhale very, very slowly. Repeat this until you feel like your
breathing has become steady (5 to 6 times). End this by opening your eyes and saying,
“Thank you, Lord.”
Daily Verse: And he said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.” Ezekiel 41:4b (ESV)
kabanalan at kagandahan (vs. 18-20).

Daily Verse: “And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the
design of the temple, its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, that is, its whole design;
and make known to them as well all its statutes and its whole design and all its laws, and
write it down in their sight, so that they may observe all its laws and all its statutes and
carry them out.” Ezekiel 43:11 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 43 highlights the return of God’s glory to the Temple (vs. 1-6). After
periods of rebellion and sin by God’s people, His glory departed from the Temple. Ezekiel
witnessed the return of God’s glory, entering the Temple through the East Gate. God
addressed the people’s past sins and violations of His holy name. God provided Ezekiel
with precise dimensions and instructions for the construction of the Temple’s altar (vs.
13-17). This chapter also emphasizes God’s holiness, repentance, and restoration, as well
as the significance of the Temple and its rituals (vs. 18-27).
Verse 11 begins with a crucial step: “If they are ashamed of all they have done.” This invites
us to reflect on our actions, acknowledge our shortcomings, and seek forgiveness. Just as
the people in the vision needed to confront their past, so too can we find renewal through
genuine repentance. Understanding the divine design can mean gaining a clearer
understanding of God’s will and inviting His presence into our hearts.
Similar to how God’s glory fills the temple, developing a personal connection with God
requires including Him in your daily routines and mindset to strengthen your faith and
understanding. Look for God’s presence in your everyday experiences, and strive to live in
a way that pleases Him.

Daily Challenge: How can you apply today’s devotional in your relationship with God?
Journal your thoughts about it.
Daily Verse: “This shall be their inheritance: I am their inheritance: and you shall give them
no possession in Israel; I am their possession.” Ezekiel 44:28 (ESV)
Yahweh at makakapaglingkod bilang pari (vs. 11-14).

Daily Challenge: Listen to the song “Deeply In Love” by Hillsong United and try to write a
love letter to Jesus in response to the song.
Daily Verse: “It shall be the holy portion of the land. It shall be for the priests, who minister
in the sanctuary and approach the Lord to minister to him, and it shall be a place for their
houses and a holy place for the sanctuary.” Ezekiel 45:4 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 45 relates to the partition of the whole land, which was allotted first to
the Lord (vs. 1-5). Then another portion was for the rulers of Israel with the commands to
stop using their powers to do oppression and violence, but instead justice and fairness (vs.
7-12). God also gave His instructions when it came to the right offerings, which should be
administered by the princes of Israel (vs. 13-17). Rules were also given for giving offerings
during the celebration of the feasts (vs. 18-25).
God emphasizes that a portion of the land that was for Him should be given to the priests
who minister in the sanctuary. As such, this holy portion should serve the twofold purpose
of providing for the priests a place for their houses in which they might dwell and a holy
place for the sanctuary, in which they should minister. In Chapter 44:28-30, only the
Levites were not given any property or possession to till or work with. Everything they need
will come from the gifts and sacrifices brought by the people to the Temple. The priests will
own all that the people set aside for the Lord. In this way, the Lord will bless the homes of
those who give to the priests.
Is God calling you to partner with Him in supporting His servants? It may be a challenge
since you also have your own needs. Or you might think that you just have enough for
yourself and your family. As you give, remember that you are doing it primarily for the
Lord. Let us respond to God’s command to care for His workers by loving, praying, and
supporting them with our generous giving.
Written by Gi Loyola
Daily Challenge: Think of a church worker and his or her family that you want to bless. As
the Lord enables you, think of ways you can show your support to them through giving.
Then, do it. The Lord will bless you in return.
Daily Verse: “You shall provide a lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering to
the Lord daily; morning by morning you shall provide it.” Ezekiel 46:13 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 46 outlines regulations for worship in the future temple, emphasizing
order and respect (vs. 1-18). The prince, representing leadership, must follow specific
guidelines for offerings and access to the temple (vs. 1-8). Likewise, the people have
designated times and entrances for worship (vs. 9-10). These rules ensure proper conduct
and highlight the concept of fair leadership, where everyone has access to God but also
acknowledges the importance of reverence and order in His presence (vs. 16-18).
Ezekiel 46:13 points us to a kind of offering that the Lord is asking from His people. He asks
that a lamb without a defect be a burnt offering to Him every day. The Holy Spirit purifies
our hearts and spirits, calling us to be a pleasing offering to the Lord. Jesus is the ultimate
lamb, without defects. He sacrificed Himself so that we could live our lives to the fullest and
be a pleasing offering to Him every day.
Offering yourself to the Lord is not just a one-time event but an everyday calling. Life may
throw a lot at you, and it can be tempting to stray from your faith. But remember, if you
do, you’re not just hurting yourself; you’re weakening your connection to God. The Lord is
calling you to present yourself as a pleasing sacrifice to Him every day. It is not about how
you go through the day successfully, but how faithful you become and how you bring honor
to the Lord.
Written by Kharen
Daily Challenge: Pray for the things you need to surrender to the Lord, and ask the Lord to
help you become a living sacrifice.
Daily Verse: “And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees
for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every
month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food,
and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 47:12 (ESV)
Daily Devo: Ezekiel 47 describes a vision of water flowing from the temple, gradually
deepening into a mighty river (v. 1). Initially, the water reaches the ankles, then the knees,
and eventually becomes a river so deep it requires swimming (vs. 4-5). The river brings
nourishment to the barren land it touches and makes the salt water fresh (v. 9). Along its
banks, many trees thrive. These trees provide fruit for food and leaves for healing (v. 12).
Overall, Ezekiel 47 depicts a vision of life-giving water and flourishing vegetation.
In this chapter, verse 12 beautifully illustrates the continuous abundance that flows from
the presence of God. Just as the river in Ezekiel’s vision brings life to the land it touches,
God’s provision is ceaseless and overflowing. In seasons of barrenness and drought, His
presence is a source of healing and restoration. Like the trees on the riverbank, as you
remain rooted in God, you can trust that His Spirit will sustain you and bring forth
fruitfulness in every aspect of your life.
This chapter serves as a reminder of the depth of God’s love and the extent of His
restoration. As you navigate the challenges of life, know that God is by your side, leading
you through difficult times and towards abundance and blessings. May you open your
heart to God’s Spirit’s life-giving flow, allowing it to lead you to deeper intimacy with Him
and a life filled with His abundant grace and provision.

March 2024: Grief, Restoration, and God’s Sovereignty
31
Sunday, March 31
Daily Verse: “And the name of the city from that time on shall be, ‘The Lord Is There.’”
Ezekiel 48:35b (ESV)
kaginhawaan.
