According to Vietnamplus (2023), in the past two years, Vietnam had

699 cases of school violence, in which 2,016 students participated, and

one-third of the total were female students. School violence is an act of
mistreatment, beating, and violence that harms students' health and
body. It is clear to see that school violence is used in actions that
seriously affect the physical and mental health of classmates in the
organization and educational establishment. Moreover, school violence
is also a means of insulting honor, and dignity or boycotting, isolation,
and abandonment of a student or a group of students. The importance of
school violence is the lack of awareness of students' characteristics, and
that leads to the wrong of the young generation and the decrease in the
quality of our education. Most cases of school violence bring back many
problems for students. School violence is always a painful problem in
today's society, it has many effects and drawbacks to students of the age
of adolescence, especially from secondary school to high school.
Therefore, everyone must be aware of the importance of school violence
and know how to prevent violence to educate children as early as
possible.

School violence among adolescents is a complicated problem with

many underlying causes. Firstly, family is an important foundation in
raising children, as Nguyen Hung (2023) said that from early childhood
until death, the family is seen to be the first and closest place where a
person's personality and behavior are taught. Family plays an important
role in teaching children; parents bring children to a safe environment,
and children can grow and improve their emotions. On the other hand,
children live in a family where there is too much violence, such as
parents often arguing, contradicting, and even beating each other, which
leads to children adapting to the violent environment for a long time.
Moreover, some parents lack understanding about raising children, and
they cannot control their actions; parents often beat the children as their
right. Most students live in violent families, and they are beaten for a
long time by their parents, which seriously affects their mental and
physical health. In some families, parents spend most of their time
working and earning money, so they cannot directly care for or share
with their children. Students will be affected by their inability to speak
and need their parents' help. They will become alone and have difficulty
distinguishing what is right and what is wrong, so they will not be able
to control what they do. On the other hand, parents have too little time to
spend with their children, so they will not know what their children
want, which will create a wall between parents and children. Children
will be free to do whatever they want, away from bad friends and bad
habits. Besides, school violence is also caused by the influence of
puberty psychology. As Minh Ha (2023) said that students at this age are
impulsive, aggressive, and want to brag, which makes it easy for them to
act out of control. Students in adolescence were very extravagant and
they were not know how to control their behavior. Many cases of
violence have occurred from the past to present, almost all have the
same cause: arguments between students stemming from their bad
behavior, uncontrolled their attitude. This is one of the most important
reasons that it is easy to cause school violence: students lack awareness
in controlling their feelings and their verbal. At that age, students do not
tend to give in to their opponents. Furthermore, in cases of school
violence, the cause that cannot be reduced is the impact of the school.
According to Nguyen Huong (2023), there are some schools have a
propensity to emphasize achievement, which might result in the
concealment of violent crimes. They always find ways to cover up acts
of school violence, because they do not want to affect the overall
achievement of the school. Because of that, it will lead to increasing
school violence if schools do not take measures to overcome and reduce
violent behavior among students. School violence is bringing many
painful problems to society, and extremely serious consequences,
especially for students.

The consequences of school violence in adolescence can be far-

reaching and devastating, affecting not only the individuals involved but
also the entire school community. According to Ho Chi Minh City
Deparment of Health, for both the students who commit violent actions
and the students who witness them, school violence has major negative
effects on their physical and emotional health (2023). There are some
negative impacts the result of school violence brings on students
physically, they have some injuries to their body, and more serious is
that some students can be life-threatening through school violence. For
instance, in one case an 8th-grade student was being beaten to death in
Hanoi by a classmate when they were playing basketball and had the
conflict arise, by Hai Nam (2024). Besides the fact that school violence
has some negative impacts on physical health, it also negatively impacts
mental health, such as causing fear, anxiety, insecurity, resentment, and
obsession. Students who are the victims of school violence are always in
a state of scaring people; they have obsessions about the violent acts in
their minds. It will become dangerous if students remain in this state for
a long time; there are some negative behaviors such as self-demand or
even suicide. For example, in 2023 some cases of school violence hurt
students' psychology; in some of those cases, a female student in Bac
Ninh had severe depression due to school violence, by Le Nga (2023).
Moreover, school violence also leads to the opposite negative reaction
from students, they will become feeling more sentiment about the
violent acts from their friends. It is easy to see that students are more
aggressive and bullying each other like the way they have been violated.
That is a big problem that makes school violence increase day by day
because it has a strong impact on student psychology. Besides
psychological health, it also hurts the learning process of students.
Although the causing fear, insecurity by being expose to school
violence, students are not be able to concentrate in studying, they are
being afraid to go to school, that will lead to poor academic
performance. Students always in state of psychology obsession, so they
will receive disciplinary action from the school for those who commit
violent acts. School violence is a painful problem in today’ society, so
the important thing to do is preventing violence in school, especially is
the age of adolescence.

Preventing school violence is not an easy way for society due to this
problem, but it will reduce it if all people pay attention to handling
school violence together. First, parents need to improve awareness in
raising children because parents must set a good example for their
children in terms of morality, way of life, and conduct, said Trong Tin
(2023). The important thing that parents need to do is spend more time
paying attention to their children, listening to children, and teaching
them how to promptly analyze and correct their teaching and acting
related to school violence. Children will be happier when they live in a
safe family, so they can grow better and have good behavior. Moreover,
students need to raise awareness by themselves about preventing school
violence, by HCM City Department of Health (2023). They can actively
practice good skills by handling the bad things around their life and
studying the good things. When they are at school, students need to
follow the school rules, learn how to control the negative emotions, and
be aware of acts of school violence. Students need to stay away from
violence and point out the negative acts of violence. Students should
learn to be humble and gentle with friends to avoid conflicts. School is a
part of society in preventing school violence because school is an
educational environment. Besides family, school is a second home to
raising students. Schools need to improve the legal system on school
violence prevention. Schools need to raise the spirit of preventing school
violence and take strong measures against students who commit violent
acts. For example, schools should pay attention to handling force cases
by suspending the students from school and connecting with society's
laws to handle. Furthermore, schools need to improve the quality of
school education and student: management to build the safety education
for students study, reduce the school side, school should not run to the
pursue achievements, uncover up violent acts among. To enhance the
students behavior, schools need to organize propaganda, training classes,
and skills seminars for teachers, staff, and students at school. There are
some ways to organize the training class by inviting some speakers - the
police who come to propagate or train the ways to prevent school
violence for students, or the school can organize practical skills when
detecting school violence among students. Teachers are also the second
parents of students, said by Le Diem Hanh (2024), so teacher should
remind students to always be humble and control behavior, and teachers
are the people who can help student as soon as school problems occur.
Teachers are always in the spirit of response with school violence in
their students, promptly handling the situation to avoid it becoming more
serious. Society plays an important role in handling school violence.
Some cases of school violence take place outside of school; and are not
under the school's control, so those who witness such cases need to
prevent and condemn them instead of filming and providing support.
School violence is a serious problem, causing negative impacts on
families, students schools, including society.
To sum up, school violence is a persistently distressing issue. The
reasons, effects, and steps that parents and schools can take to avoid
school violence among adolescents. School violence in adolescence
causes from many faces, such as family violence exists, parents lack of
knowledge in raising children, though that children become aggressive
and implosive and they cannot control their behavior. School violence is
also affected by another school-side problem. These causes all bring
serious physical and mental consequences as well as affect the learning
process for students who commit violent acts. This essay highlights the
importance of preventing school violence and finds ways to prevent
students from being violent. Parents need to pay more attention to
children and let them know how to control feelings and behavior.
parents also play an important role in teaching and raising children.
Moreover, schools also join hands in educating students by improving
the school laws and the quality of education... Therefore, joining hands
to prevent violence is not only for parents, individual students, and
schools, but is also a necessary issue for the entire society.
