ASSIGNMENT: VIDEO

DRAFT DUE AT 7.11.2024 IN BLACKBOARD

FINAL EXAM DUE AT 24.11.2024 IN INSPERA
The final version will be delivered as part of the final exam to Inspera.

Videos are becoming the main way we consume information currently, thus it is
important to learn how to create videos that have focused content, visual
elements that make it easier to understand the ideas presented and a layout that
is easy to understand and follow. Most people have been guided to YouTube at
least once to learn how to do something.

The task for this portion of the exam is to make a video for social media (you
choose which platform you are creating for) which explains something from your
area of study to train yourself to popularize science. The concept you are
explaining should be understandable for the average adult, but you should
specify your target audience further in the reflection note.

Requirements
You only have 1 minute, that limits the complexity of the topic you have time to
explain. The video must be about something from your area of study. For a
master student, you do not have to describe your entire thesis in this video, but
you could explain an element of what you are doing or use the opportunity to
present your research question and why you feel it is important that it be
investigated.

Required format
 - 1 minute (acceptable range is from 55 seconds to 1:05 minutes)

 - Language must be English or Norwegian

 - Subtitles are optional, but encouraged

 - File format must be .mp4, Inspera does not accept flash files

 - The format ([Link]. 3:4, phone size, horizontal or vertical, 16:9 etc) should
depend on which platform you choose as your platform of choice for the
video

 - Voice-over needs to be a real person talking

 - No use of templates or AI

Crediting
 - All images, icons, illustrations, photos, video clips, sounds and music that
you did not create yourself must be included in the credits at the end and
you must be allowed to use them by the rights holder

 - Credits and references are not counted in the total time of the video

The video must contain at least 2 of the following visual

elements
 - Illustrative pictures or illustrations

 - Animation

 - Video recordings you have made yourself

 - Screen recording of your computer (if applicable)

 - Stock video

We hope to see that you have gained some skills in video editing by
assembling several elements.

Grading
 - You will be graded on how your choices of visual aids communicate the
message of the video

 - We will examine the basic design elements and how well you have used
them. Like in your poster

 - There must be movement in your video, we are not looking for a

PowerPoint with voiceover. It must feel like a video, not a power point
presentation
