SYSTEM (TPIS)
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (MIS) – Integrated
machine system.; Providing managers w/ information as support TRANSACTION PROCESSING INFORMATION SYSTEM (TPIS) - Talks
in decision making. about transactions or exchange of goods or products between two

ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTION – Support activities by an MIS to
business organization. INPUT FUNCTION - capturing of data coming from the users or
other systems based on a certain source document.
MANAGERIAL ACTIVITIES – Activities that could be used by
business organization.; Long-term & short-term goal of PROCESS FUNCTION - manipulates the data entered into the
organization. system.

LOGISTICS – used for shipment.; Planning, control, & distribution. OUTPUT FUNCTION - they are the results

MARKETING – sales forecast STORAGE FUNCTION - stores data files into the database

HUMAN RESOURCES – analyze employee performance.; Employee BASIC DATA ENTRY - This refers to data entered by users into the
requirement. system

FINANCE AND ACCOUNTNG – financial analyses. DATA VALIDATION - programs that would allow for the
computation and validation of data entered by users.
CLERICAL STAFF – Handle direct transactions.; they process data
