ABSTRACT
To promote digital banking and foster a cashless economy, we
conducted an awareness initiative in Old Hubli, Hubbali, focusing
on Shivam General Store as the central location. The activity
involved introducing the shopkeeper and local customers to digital
payment methods, with a particular emphasis on the Unified
Payment Interface (UPI).
Our efforts included hands-on guidance for downloading and
installing UPI applications, setting up QR codes for seamless
transactions, and ensuring all technical requirements were met,
such as completing KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures. We
also prioritized educating the community about safety measures to
safeguard against digital fraud, providing practical tips for secure
online transactions.
This initiative aimed to reduce dependence on cash, promote
convenience, and encourage the community to embrace the
benefits of a cashless economy. It served as a small but significant
step towards driving financial inclusion and digital literacy within
the local population.
