FREIBURG CONTRACTING & GENERAL MAINTENANCE L.L.C.

P.O Box 43206, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

Attention : Eng. Adesh Jayan

Project : Upgrading of DN150 Bulk Consumer Chamber to DN 300MM

For the Plot P11 at sector RD109 P8, Reference Work Order:
#DC4356865

Subject : Testing of DN 250 Needle valve

Dear Sir,

We confirm that the DN 250 Needle valve supplied to you previously for the
above referred project was manually opened & closed to check flow rates at
various opening degrees in presence ADDC O&M Engineer &Contractor.

Refer to the control valve program the previously submitted , the valve was
finally set at 150 m3/hr flow as per the site requirement.

Thanks.

For Erhard

All used heads are considered to be dynamic ones. We kindly encourage the hydraulic designers to check the correctness of the
used data and comment or confirm them. If heads measured on site differ from those simulated the performance of the valve
will be affected. Maximum flow may not be achieved, cavitation may be encountered.

The head loss of a valve can be calculated by means of following relation:

v2
Dp  z  r 
2
Dp ... head loss [Pa] (10 5 Pa = 1 bar)
z ... head loss coefficient (without dimensions)
r ... density of liquid [kg/m³]
v ... average flow velocity [m/s]

The kv value describes the water flow rate in m³/h at a temperature

of 5° to 30° C and with a pressure loss of 1 bar.
The relation between k v and the flow rate Q is:

Dp
Q  kv 
10  r  g

Dp ... pressure loss [Pa] (10 5 Pa = 1 bar)

r ... density of the medium [kg/m³]
g ... acceleration of the gravity [m/s²] (g = 9,81 m/s²)
