REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
DepEd Vision, Mission and Core Values

DepEd Order No.36 s.2013 enacts the official adoption of DepEd Vision, Mission and Core
values.
DepEd envisioned Filipinos who are patriots , with a strong desire to serve for the
betterment of their country along with the fulfillment of their own dreams. As a teacher, I
realized that our institution must be learner-centered in terms of policies and practices.
Faculty-development must be an agenda as continuous professional growth can be an agent
for learner development. Along with this, proper values have to be constantly inculcated and
ensure that all necessary competencies are delivered to develop their full potential. I believe
proper values can be easily adopted and becomes a life-long learning if these too are adopted
by teachers themselves. As such, we must practice what we preach because through
modelling it becomes meaningful.
In line with DepEd Mission which is to protect and promote the right of every Filipino to
quality, equitable, culture-based and complete basic education. Teachers must provide a
child-friendly and motivating environment. We need to nurture every learner regardless of
culture, economic status, and abilities. Actively engaged with the community and
stakeholders in developing life-long learning.
The Core Values: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa provides moral and
ethical guidelines in setting clear directions and achieving balance development of mind,
body and spirit which can strengthen human personality.
Therefore, as for me, I must continue nurturing every learner in my care. Empathize and
extend more patience in dealing with them and create an inclusive and positive learning
environment.
To be one with DepEd in its goal, its realization is aligned with the commitment of every
member in the agency to adopt the same in each ones practices.
