Life Without Technology
Imagine living in a world without smartphones, the internet, or other modern
technologies. In some remote villages, people still live without the recent advances and
innovations. Instead of using cars, they walk or ride bicycles. They grow their own food
and make their own clothes. Many houses don’t have electricity, so people often use
candles for light and cook over a fire.
Education is different, too. As there is no public transport, some student have to walk
many kilometers to their schools every day. In class, they don’t use computers or tablets
—instead, they write in notebooks and read from printed books. In the evening, they
help their families by fetching water, feeding animals, or preparing meals.
Life without technology may seem difficult, but many people say it is peaceful. They
spend more time talking to their families, working together, and enjoying nature.
However, some young people leave their villages to study or work in big cities, where
there are more job opportunities and technologies.
