A. ABSTRACT (What are you going to do?)
This summer, I plan to volunteer at the Rock County Humane Society (RCHS), where I will assist with
animal care and general shelter operations. My goal is to help the animals and gain first hand experience
within a non-profit organization.
B. LEARNING PATH/STEPS (See Sample if needed)
1. Learn about the RCHS and complete volunteer training.
2. Volunteer regularly, observing shelter operations and animal needs.
3. Document experience and learning via journal.
4. Develop new skills (Animal handling, teamwork, etc).
5. Analyze experience for final presentation.
C. PROJECT STEPS (See Sample if needed)
1. Apply to RCHS, complete onboarding and training.
2. Establish and follow a consistent volunteer schedule.
3. Perform assigned animal care and support duties.
4. Log volunteer hours and journal experience.
5. Gather documentation and prepare final presentation.
D. DOCUMENTATION (How will you show evidence?)
1. Verified volunteer hour log.
2. Experience journal.
3. Photographs.
4. Final project presentation.
E. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION (Explain why you are doing this.)
My want for animal welfare drives this project. Volunteering at RCHS allows me to directly help
animals locally and gain practical experience in a non-profit organization.
F. ACADEMIC HONESTY
I know it is illegal to copy someone else's words without giving them credit. It is also illegal to fabricate
information and/or have someone else write any part of my paper or do my work on the project. Any of
these things constitutes plagiarism and violates the school's Academic Honesty Policy. To do so will
result in a failing grade on the paper, the project, or both, and if guilty, I will not graduate, or take part in
the ceremony in June.
