Multitester Scale Reading Guide

The document explains how to read a range selector and scale for measuring electrical values. It details the computation for different ranges (X1, X10, X100, etc.) and their corresponding applications, such as testing speakers and electronic parts. Additionally, it covers the measurement of both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) voltages using various scales.

Range selector Scale

How to read ?

Lets focus in the range selector :

As you have seen in the picture, the range selector point at, X100 range : and the pointer of the scale is at

1 or between 1 and 2 , is 1.5

Lets read it one by one : ( BASED ON THE POINTER OF THE SCALE )

RANGE POINT AT COMPUTATION POINTER BASIS Uses / application

1.5 READING
X1 1.5 OHMS 1.5 X 1 = 1.5 Speaker, continuity or connection
X10 15 OHMS 1.5 X 10 =15 and all electrical and electronic
FROM RIGHT TO parts
X100 150 OHMS 1.5 X 100 = 150 LEFT : 2K < 0
X1000 or 1K 1500 OR 1.5 X 1000 = 1500 All electronic parts
1K OHMS
X100K 150K 1.5 X 100000 = 150 K
OHMS
2.5V DC 2.30 / 2.35 Assume 250 as 2.5
10V DC 9.2V DC From left to right Testing direct current voltage .
OR 9.25 V
DC DC AND AC Ex. Battery, computer board etc .
50V DC 46 V DC
250V DC
1000V DC ASSUME 10 AS 1000 RANGE DC
10V AC You can use 10 , 50 and 250 scale in both DC and Testing alternating current voltage
50V AC AC basis for reading. Ex. Live wires, transformers etc
250V AC
1000V AC
