PIXELS- Art and Photography Club,
VSSUT, Burla

someone’s imagination.”
PIXELS – Art & Photography Club of VSSUT, Burla is a blend of peoples who want to
capture and create beauty. They try every bit to enhance the perception of the
beholder at every point. They express their love and passion for arts through
photography, art and craft. The club undertake the decoration and coverage work at
various events. They undertake the work with conviction and deliver with
determination.
PIXELS, officially established in the year 2015, is a group of like-minded people who
have a keen eye for detail. Art is not defined by bounds or limits. An expression of
poet, taste for beauty, room for perfection, the drive to create all blend together to
make an artist. The team love to paint and capture this world’s beauty on the canvas
of life. They urge each other to excel in photography and arts, exchanging and
becoming better at expressing our ideas in an artistic form. PIXELS provides platform
to paint their dreams into reality.
Events
PIXELS have held many exhibitions and photo tours in the past and will continue the
legacy along with other fun competitions and events like pencil sketches, colour
painting, graffiti, sand art, etc. Stay connected with this club for more fun and frolic.
We host events in the nearby schools and also inter-university reaching to the heights
of National level seminars and exhibitions.
Student Secretary
Mr. Mrinal Nayak of the Civil Engineering dept. is the student
secretary of the club. Under his leadership the club has strengthened
itself and also started a new initiative to organise, LIVEGEN, the first
of is kind media summit in any university in Odisha.
Faculty advisor
Thanks to the constant support and enthusiasm provide by Mrs.
Nivedita Patel, the faculty advisor for the club, we have grown to
being one of the major societies of the university. She offers the
perspective and expertise to the decision taken for the club.
Artifex
PIXELS conducts an annual National Level Art and Photography
exhibition, ARTIFEX. An array of different artists and
photographers participate in it for exciting prizes and also to get
featured in our annual e-magazine PIXIOM.
LiveGen
PIXELS – Art & Photography Club of VSSUT, Burla hosted
‘LIVEGEN’, lauded as Odisha’s first-ever Media Summit on
19th January 2020. The event, addressing the theme,
“Passion to Profession”, was the star of attraction for the
youth from the University and beyond who wished to pursue
the path of content creation, social media and broadcasting
in this modern era of technology.
The event had 5 speakers – Shivankit Parihar, an actor; Salil
Jamdar, a YouTube content creator; Sanket Narsale, a
photographer; Pradeep Das, doodle artist; and Alokesh
Sinha, a comedian. These 5 celebrities graced the stage to
provide the audience with the insight of their journey and
truth behind content creation.
The event was concluded with felicitation of speakers by the Dean Student
Welfare Sudhansu Sekhar Dash, VP, Cultural Association Anil Kumar Kar and
Faculty Advisor of Art & Photography Club Ms. Nivedita Patel. LIVEGEN proved to be
a successful Media Summit, and as a hope for the youth to explode in the digital era.
ACHIEVEMENTS
• Successfully organised ARTIFEX- a national Level art and photography
exhibition.
• Design Team Management for VASSAUNT (the annual Cultural fest of VSSUT,
Burla)
• Photography for all fests and official meetings of the University.
• Conducting of Art and Photography Workshops and seminars in VASSAUNT
and throughout the year.
• 3rd prize in costume design by Lopamudra Pattnaik in Mood Indigo
• 1st prize in photography by Soumya Saswat Mohapatra in Online Photography
Submission Competition, PHOTOGEEKS.
• Finalist in short film making by Saiprasad Mohapatra in Spring Fest
• Bismita Biswal and Akash Rath, two of our alumnis have attained their degrees
in art(painting).
• Mohit Mahananda has been featured on various media platforms for his graphic
design.
• Chiranjibi Dalabehera was a finalist in FRAMED, Mood Indigo.
• Club Alumni Tadasha Tanwi got featured in Accenture's annual magazine for
her paintings.
