INTRODUCTION
Agriculture plays a vital role in sustaining the global economy and food supply. However,
traditional farming methods face several challenges, including overuse of resources, unpredictable
weather, and lack of real-time monitoring. Greenhouse cultivation provides a solution by creating a
controlled environment for crops, but it still requires continuous supervision and precise
management.
The GreenAgri IoT Monitoring System integrates smart agriculture practices with greenhouse
monitoring and control using the Internet of Things (IoT). The system is designed to help farmers
remotely monitor and manage key parameters such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, light
intensity, and CO₂ levels. With the help of IoT-enabled sensors, actuators, and cloud-based
platforms, GreenAgri provides real-time data, automated control, and decision support to ensure
sustainable farming and improved crop yield.
OBJECTIVE
The objectives of the systems are-
To monitor soil and environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, moisture, CO₂, and
light) in real-time.
To implement automated irrigation and climate control systems to optimize resource usage.
To provide farmers with remote access to farm and greenhouse data through mobile/web
applications.
To generate alerts and notifications for abnormal conditions.
To improve agricultural productivity while minimizing water, energy, and labor usage.
1. Real-time Monitoring
To continuously track environmental parameters such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and
light intensity in agricultural fields and greenhouses.
2. Smart Irrigation Control
To automate irrigation by analyzing soil and weather data, ensuring water efficiency and reducing
wastage.
3. Improved Crop Productivity
To optimize crop growth conditions by providing accurate insights for timely interventions in
farming practices.
4. Data-driven Decision Making
To collect, store, and analyze data from IoT sensors for generating useful reports that assist
farmers in decision-making.
5. Remote Accessibility
To allow farmers to monitor and control farming conditions remotely using mobile or web
applications.
6. Cost and Resource Efficiency
To reduce manual labor, optimize resource usage (water, electricity, fertilizers), and minimize
operational costs.
7. Early Detection of Issues
To provide alerts for abnormal conditions (e.g., drought, pest risks, high temperature) to prevent
crop loss.
8. Sustainability Support
To promote eco-friendly farming by conserving resources and reducing environmental impacts.
