The DELTAWELD series includes features like electronic control for easy use and superior arc quality, with the capability for semi-automatic and automatic MIG welding. It is designed for tough manufacturing work with internal digital voltage control, line voltage compensation, and thermal overload protection. These units also offer remote control capability and hot start for starting difficult electrodes, making them versatile enough for precision jobs requiring finesse .
VERTIWEAR 600 flux cored wires deposit a martensitic steel alloy that balances moderate abrasion with medium to high impact resistance, making them suitable for components such as ripper teeth and dozer blades which experience heavy mechanical wear. The excellent compressive strength and metal-to-metal wear resistance enhance durability, offering long-term protection and performance in demanding scenarios compared to softer hardfacing options .
WELDWELL 77 is a smooth running iron powder electrode for all positional welding except vertical down, possessing high ductility, x-ray quality, and low temperature impact properties to -40°C. It is used for repair and maintenance of heavy plate and highly restrained work like pressure vessels and heavy girders. In contrast, ABRASOCORD 43 is a heavy coated hard facing electrode depositing hard chromium/niobium carbides in an austenitic matrix, designed for applications requiring resistance to extreme abrasion and moderate impact, such as crusher hammers and ripper teeth .
The AUSTARC 18TT is classified as a versatile E4818/E7018-1 type electrode, offering excellent DC performance in all positions except vertical down. It is ideal for difficult positional pipework and structural members such as offshore platforms and hydroelectric penstocks. Meanwhile, the AUSTARC 16TC is an E4816/E7016 type electrode known for its smooth running and hydrogen control, which is especially suitable for vertical up and horizontal operations. Its key applications include welding carbon, carbon-manganese, and low alloy high strength steels, particularly in structural setups where notch toughness at -40°C is essential .
The utility AC13 welder is ideal for hobbyists or light trade use with a welding current range of 70-120 Amps, accommodating electrodes from 2.5 to 3.2mm. It is fully adjustable with overload protection and suitable for engine-driven generators. In contrast, the utility AC15 can handle up to 4.0mm electrodes, features twin output ranges for versatility, and supports a wider current range of 45-150 Amps, making it more suitable for a variety of general, stainless steel, low hydrogen, and hardfacing applications .
The WELDMATIC 150s, offering 150 amps and compatible with gas or gasless wire, is suitable for welding up to 6mm steel in a single pass and also accommodates aluminum. It is versatile for home or light industrial settings. The WELDMATIC 175s, with 175 amps, handles thicker materials up to 8mm steel. Its higher capacity and mobility make it ideal for home workshops to light manufacturing applications, offering greater power for more demanding tasks .
TUBECORD E-2460 contains carbon, chromium, niobium, and molybdenum in its weld deposit, offering robust resistance to both impact and abrasion, suitable for severe environments like crusher hammers and ripper teeth. On the other hand, TUBECORD C-2354 enhances impact performance through controlled levels of carbon and chromium, providing a hard and tough deposit with a hardness of 54-57 HRC. The choice between them depends on the specific balance between impact and abrasion challenges faced in the application .
The INDURO 145 welder offers benefits like portability, a lightweight design (4.8kg), and user-friendly features such as hot start for easier electrode starting and VRD safety for added operator protection. Its power efficiency and capability for both arc and TIG welding add versatility. However, a challenge might be its limited 145 Amp output, which may not suffice for heavier industrial tasks requiring higher amperage and duty cycles, thus confining its use to lighter industrial and repair applications .
TUBE-ALLOY A43-0 is classified under AS/NZS 2576:2460-B7 and deposits a high chromium/niobium surfacing alloy, specifically designed for resisting severe abrasion and moderate impact in high-temperature environments. Its unique characteristic of readily cracking upon cooling, due to its composition, differentiates it from other surfacing alloys, which may not provide such targeted high-stress abrasion resistance or application readiness for high temperature environments .
SUPERCAST Ni electrodes, classified as graphite coated, are particularly adapted for welding lower strength cast irons, including grey cast iron, meehanite, and some austenitic grades. Their composition allows them to handle the unique challenges of cast iron, managing thermal expansion and contraction effectively during welding, thus minimizing the risk of cracking. The graphite coating assists in smooth operation and deposition, making it suitable for repair and buildup tasks across different cast iron grades .
