1. What are your On-the-Job Training objectives for this week?
List the goals or tasks you aimed to accomplish.
- This week, my main goal was to get a solid introduction to the company and understand how things
work in a real engineering environment. I wanted to start bridging the gap between what I’ve
learned in school and how it’s actually used on the job. I also aimed to build confidence with basic
tasks like reporting and technical drawing.
2. What are the On-the-Job Training key activities that you’ve done for this week?
Summarize the main tasks you worked on and any projects you contributed to.
- The week started with an orientation, which really helped me understand the structure of the
company and what’s expected of us as interns. I joined a site inspection at Cavite State University
where I got to see how engineers assess loads and plan structures. I also helped with preventive
maintenance at the Vitro Data Center, and worked on AutoCAD and technical reports. It was a
good mix of field exposure and office tasks.
3. What are the skills that you’ve developed in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Highlight any new skills you learned or existing skills you improved.
- I picked up a lot this week—especially in writing site inspection reports, which taught me how to
clearly present technical observations. My AutoCAD skills also improved as I worked on drawings. I
got more familiar with how preventive maintenance is done in data centers, and I’m starting to
become more confident in communicating and coordinating with professionals in the workplace.
4. What are the challenges that you’ve encountered in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Describe any difficulties you encountered and how you addressed them.
- One challenge was adjusting to the professional setting. Writing reports that are both technical and
easy to understand wasn’t easy at first. Also, being out in the field made me realize that applying
theory to real-world situations can be more complex than expected. But I took it as a learning
opportunity and tried to ask questions whenever I needed help.
5. What are the lessons that you’ve learned in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Reflect on any important insights or lessons gained from your experiences this week.
- This week made me realize how important communication and attention to detail are in
engineering. It’s not just about solving problems—it’s also about making sure every part of the job
is done right, from inspections to documentation. I also learned that coordination between
departments is key to getting projects done efficiently.
6. What are the feedback that you’ve received in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Note any feedback from supervisors or peers, and how it might inform your future work.
- The feedback from my supervisors has been encouraging. They appreciated that I was proactive
and showed interest during our activities. They also gave me tips on how to improve my reports
and suggested I keep asking questions and learning as much as I can during site work.

material procurement all come together in real construction work.
2. What are the On-the-Job Training key activities that you’ve done for this week?
Summarize the main tasks you worked on and any projects you contributed to.
- I spent a lot of time working on AutoCAD drawings and organizing previous project files, which
really helped sharpen my drafting skills. I also started preparing a Bill of Quantities and other
material-related documents for the NPC Palawan project. Throughout the week, I went out to
canvass materials, get quotations from suppliers, and compare prices. Toward the end of the
week, I joined a team discussion focused on improving the building’s solar energy system, which I
found especially engaging.
3. What are the skills that you’ve developed in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Highlight any new skills you learned or existing skills you improved.
- This week really helped me strengthen my technical drafting skills through repeated AutoCAD
work. I also began learning how to create a Bill of Quantities, which challenged me to be more
detailed and accurate. On top of that, canvassing materials gave me a practical understanding of
procurement, supplier communication, and how to factor in costs and availability. I also gained
insight into renewable energy systems through our solar energy team discussion.
4. What are the challenges that you’ve encountered in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Describe any difficulties you encountered and how you addressed them.
- One of the challenges was adjusting to the level of detail required when preparing project
documents like the Bill of Quantities. It was something new to me, and I had to be very careful with
measurements and item specifications. Canvassing was also more complex than expected—it
involved negotiation, comparing technical specs, and balancing quality with budget. But through
these challenges, I learned a lot about the decision-making process in real projects.
5. What are the lessons that you’ve learned in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Reflect on any important insights or lessons gained from your experiences this week.
- I learned that engineering isn’t just about designing—it’s also about cost efficiency, planning, and
logistics. Even something as simple as canvassing materials plays a big role in a project’s success.
I also realized that technical drawings are more than just diagrams; they’re essential tools that
shape the entire construction process. Lastly, our discussion on solar energy reminded me that
sustainability is becoming a core part of engineering—and it’s something I want to keep exploring.
6. What are the feedback that you’ve received in your On-the-Job Training for this week?
Note any feedback from supervisors or peers, and how it might inform your future work.
- I received positive feedback for being thorough with the AutoCAD tasks and for showing initiative
during the canvassing process. My supervisors appreciated that I asked questions when I wasn’t
sure and that I took time to understand why each task mattered. They encouraged me to keep
being hands-on and to stay curious, especially when working on something new.
