System Recovery

What is system recovery

Software Recovery helps restore system files of the equipment to a point

your data files will not be affected by the System Restore.

System Restore is not intended to back up personal files, so it cannot

help him recover a personal file that was deleted or damaged. You should back up the

The System Recovery Options menu contains various tools, such as Startup Repair,

Is your equipment running the updated firmware?

Note: To execute the procedure, the Logged-in User on the equipment must have privileges of
Administrator.

We have two modes of firmware update.

1 – Through SWS (Sync Thru Web Service)

2- USB (using Pen drive)

Via SWS

Access the page via IP or Host Name

1. Click on Menu I.E Internet Explorer

2. Type the corresponding IP address of the desired device in the address bar.

4. Log in as Administrator on this page to access firmware updates.

5. Enter username and password in the open window (ID: adminPal-Pass: Simpress1934@)

 Firmware update procedure via USB

 Hard Drive System Recovery Procedure

In order to know what is happening with the equipment regarding the HDD, we can
check if it shows hard drive error on the screen or not.

Reminder: All errors that start with the letter S refer to the equipment's system.

Preparation of the HDD recovery file

Have a USB drive with enough space for the recovery files from the hard drive.

Format your Pen drive in FAT 32

Download the file from the Simpress FTP

Place the correct file according to the model of the equipment in question to be updated.

HDD system recovery procedure.

Remember that there are 2 methods to enter HDD System Recovery mode recommended by
manufacturer.

1st Method - Leave the right side cover open + Press the Power button on the panel

 Touch Screen Recovery Procedure
First, we need to install the software on our desktop or laptop.
What is this software?

The name of this software is Phoenix Suit, which is responsible for transmitting a software of
recovery of the integrated system on the touch screen (Smart UX)

Note: Remember that we need a USB extension cable for the recovery of our screen in
second moment.

Download the files from the Simpress FTP for screen recovery.

Place the correct file, according to the model of the equipment being updated.

Note: Remember that all devices with the Smart UX screen will have the OPE Recovery folder.

Unzip the file in question

Let's install the software now!

Step 1 - With the equipment in question turned on, we will remove the cover located below.

download, redo the procedure again. Remember that when you enter the
download mode, it will not be possible to return to normal mode.

 Step 5 - Connect the USB extension cable to the output of the USB cable from the Smart UX screen, and the other end to
your Desktop or Notebook.

Step 6 - After connecting the cable, open the Phoenix Suit software, use the top icons of the software
in the firmware option

Step 7 - Use the 'image' button to search for the installation file (.img) and click the button.

10th Step - Wait for the Smart UX screen firmware to load.

Note: At this moment, the Smart UX screen of the device will be turned off.

Step 13 - Wait for the Smart UX screen to communicate with the main board. This will take a few seconds.

Perform the necessary tests so that there is communication and interaction between the screen and the equipment.

14th Step - Secure the communication and power cables of the screen, assemble the side cover.

This was the procedure to recover the software of our Samsung MultiXpress equipment.
