iv. In section B, Question 21 to 25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 2 mark each.
v. In section C, Question 26 to 31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 3 mark each.
vi. In section D, Question 32 to 35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 5 mark each.
vii. In section E, Question no. 36 to 38 are case study-based questions carrying 4 marks each. Internal choice is
provided in 2 marks questions in each case- study.
viii. There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in 2 questions in section B, 2

24. If the diagonals of a parallelogram are equal then show that it is a rectangle.

25. Prove that the perpendicular from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects the chord.

36. During COVID pandemic, Doctors and Nurses worked day and night to save lives. The management of a
hospital decided to make a rule regarding the payment to be made to the doctors for their hard work.
The rule is as follow:
For first 5 hours, the doctors get`10,000 and for every extra hour of work, he/she will get `500. If a doctor
works for ‘x’ hours and total amount paid to doctor for 1 day is `y, then based on the above information,
answer the following questions:
i. Find the linear equation formed from the above situation. 1
ii. Write the standard form of linear equation formed. 2
OR
What is the number of solutions of the linear equation formed? 2
iii. If a doctor works for 8 hours, then find the amount paid to the doctor. 1

Case study 2

37. In a coffee shop, coffee is served in two types of cups. One is cylindrical in shape with diameter 7 cm
and height 14 cm and the other is hemispherical with diameter 21 cm.

Based on the above, answer the following questions:


(i) Find the area of the base of the cylindrical cup. 1

38. Four friends Rahul, Neetu, Ankit and Harsh are playing a game. They formed a coordinate plane and

(-2, -4), (2, -4) respectively.
Based on the given situation, answer the following questions:
i. Find the distance between Rahul and Neetu. 1
ii. In which quadrant Ankit is sitting? 1
iii. Which shape is formed by joining positions of four friends in order? 2
