ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I. Project Title: DISTRIBUTION OF MILK TO PREGNANT WOMEN

V. Rationale

The municipality of Lopez has attained decrease in undernutrition rate for the past 6
years, however, malnutrition remained to be a public health problem with still a
significant number of wasted and severely wasted (0.39%) and stunted children (0.62%)
in 2025. This program covers activities that are nutrition-related and nutrition-specific,
with inclusion of interventions on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI).
This project is identified by the Municipal Nutrition Action Office as a priority
program and aims to reduce the prevalence rate of undernutrition among children, promote
good nutrition and healthy food choices across the life cycle, stimulate economic, cultural
and community engagement in nutrition program management, and promote overall health
status of the children in the community. The nutrition program shall cover several nationally
implemented complement programs specifically: Management of Severe Acute
Malnutrition. Garantisadong Pambata, Operation Timbang (the nationwide monitoring and
intervention among malnourished and overnourished children) among 0-59 and 0-71 months,
supplemental feeding programs, Mother’s class on the proper care of infants and children,
and the Deworming program. This program will also include provision of Micronutrient
supplements and implementation

This activity participated by Pregnant in 2nd up to 3rd trimester of their Pregnancy. This caravan
aims to educate and promote interest in the Early Childhood Care and Development in First 1,000 days of
life. In this event, All Pregnant women in 3 rd trimester will have free, laboratory & dental checkup from
Municipal Health Office and Regular Check-Up on their midwife in their barangay health stations .
400 selected pregnant women will receive MILK FOR PREGNANT from LGU. This activity
aimed to make an impact for health promotion concentrating on care for pregnant women,
intensify the health seeking behavior of women when it comes to antenatal care.

VI. Objectives
 To improve maternal and neonatal health
 To increase a number of proper and aseptic delivery of pregnant women
 To reduce maternal mortality and morbidity.

VII. Project Description and Methodology


 Every pregnant women that in 2 nd trimester will be receive milk, 1 box every
month until in their 9 months, if they are
1. Including on the Target Client list and endorsed of their rural
health midwife
2. With complete vaccination of tetanus diphtheria vaccine
3. With monthly and updated checkup and recorded on their mama
book.
4. Priority on the at risk and malnourished pregnant women
