RED BABY DRESS

This is a very cute dress perfect for pictures or any special occasion. It
has been made in red and white, but you can use any color you like
just make sure that it is worsted weight yarn.
Size: 0-3 months
Measurements:
Finished Chest: 14 inches
Finished Length: 11
Level: Intermediate
Materials
· I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby. This is a medium weight (#4) yarn, approximately 9
oz of red and 4 oz of white
·5 mm (for top) and 5.0 mm (for skirt) crochet hook
· Thread and Needle to attach button.
· One small button

Gauge; 18 stiches = 4 inches; 11 rows =4" in HDC. Use any hook size to obtain this gauge.

Notes
1. Ch 2 at the beginning of each round and row does not count as a stitch
unless specified.
2. Weave in ends or bury ends as you work.
3. Measure chest when you finish row 5 to make sure that you are
getting the right size.
4. Make V sts in the ch 1 space.

With red yarn Ch 67, make one HDC in the fourth ch from the hook (button opening), 1
HDC in the next 7 sts, make a HDC V st (1 HDC, ch 1, 1 HDC), make 1 HDC in the next 14
sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 16 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 14 sts,
make a HDC V st in the next st, make 1 HDC in the next 8 sts, chain 2 and turn
Row 2
Make 1 HDC in the same ch 2, make 1 HDC in the next 8 sts, make a V st, make 1 HDC in
the next 16 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 18 sts, Make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the
next 16 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 9 sts, chain 2 and turn.
Row 3
Make 1 HDC in the same ch 2 st, go to the next stitch and make 1 HDC in the next 9 sts,
make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 18 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 20 sts,
make a HDC V stitch, make 1 HDC in the next 18 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next
10 sts. Joining to the first HDC of the row to work in the round.
Round 4
CH2 Make 1 HDC in the same ch 2 st, make 1 HDC in the next 10 sts. Make a HDC V st, 1
SC in the next 20 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 22 sts, make a HDC V st, Make
1 SC in the next 20 sts, make a HDC V st, 1 HDC in the next 11 sts, Sl st to first HDC.
Round 5
Ch 2 make 1 HDC in the same ch 2 st, 1 HDC in the next 11 sts, make a HDC V st (HDC,
CH 1, HDC), skip all the SC sts (for the arm opening), make a HDC V st in the next HDC V
st ch space, 1 HDC in the next 24 sts, 1 HDC V st, skip all SC sts ,make a HDC V st on the
next HDC V st (arm opening), make 1 HDC in the next 12 sts, Slip st to first HDC to join.
Round 6

Ch 2, make a HDC in the same ch 2 st, 1 HDC all the way around. On the HDC V st from
previous round just skip the ch 1 space. You should have an entire round of hdc for this
round. Slip st to first HDC with white color to end this round (56 sts total)
Change to white
Round 7,8,9
Ch 2, 1HDC in the same st, 1 HDC all the way around
Round 10
Change to Red
Chain 2, make 1 HDC in the same ch 2 st, *1 HDC in the next 2 sts, 2 HDC in the next st.
Repeat from * all the way around, slip stitch on top of ch 2 to end this round.
Change hook size to 5.00 mm
Round 11
Ch 2 *make a shell st (2 dc, ch1, 2dc) in the next st, skip 2 sts, make a DC V st in the next st,
skip 2 sts. Repeat from * all the way around, sl st to the first ch 2.
Round 12-17
Ch 2, *make a shell st in the ch 1 sp of the shell st, make a DC V st in the next ch space of
the DC V st. Repeat from * all the way around, sl st to the first ch 2.
White Part
Round 18
Ch 2 Work on the back loop and make 1 DC on each st around. Sl St to first DC.
Round 19
Ch 2,*1 DC, 1 TC V-st, 1 DC, 1 HDC, repeat from * around. Sl St to top of Ch 2 to join. Cut
the yarn and finish off here.
Neck Edge
With the back of dress facing you, attach yarn to the upper, left corner (across from the
button hole).
Row 1
Ch1, make 1 HDC in the next 7 sts, dc3tog, make 1 HDC in the next 12 sts, make dc3tog in
the next st, make 1 HDC in the next 14 sts, make dc3tog in the next st, make 1 HDC in the
next 12 sts, make dc3tog in the next st, make 1 HDC in the next 7 sts. sl st to end this row.
Flower instructions
Using White Yarn
Round 1
Ch 3, make 1 HDC in the third Ch from the hook, Make 10 HDC, Sl st on top of ch to end
this round.
Round 2
Ch 3, work on back loops, make a TC V st ( 2 tc, ch1, 2 tc), Ch 3, sl st on next st ( first petal
made), * Ch 3, make 2 TC V st in the next st, ch 3 , slip st on the next st, Repeat from *
until you have 5 petals.
Finishing
Weave in any end that you may have forgotten.
Sew the button on the back.
Attatch the flower.
