Teacher’s Book – T@rget 8• T@rget 4 - Passion for fashion •Test 4 A 3

Are you obsessed with fashion and beauty? If the answer is yes, then there is a high chance that you spend a fair amount
of time trying to make sure that whatever you are wearing is fashionable. It was once thought that fashion was reserved
for people who worked in fashion and did not really concern the general public. With changing times, more people have
become concerned as to whether their outfits are fashionable. However, who really sets the trends and decides what is in
5vogue? Have you ever wondered why some colours, styles and accessories suddenly become a favourite among
everyone around you?
Fashion designers and legendary fashion houses, such as Prada, Gucci and Chanel, lead the way in influencing our
perception of fashion. These designers create trend-setting fashions and are able to gain a wider appeal through fashion
exhibitions, shows and magazine photo-shoots that display their collection. Even though some of their designs may seem
10outrageous, the brand appeal attracts people to adapt the themes into outfits that may be worn in their daily routine.
The growth of the mass media has also played a very important role in developing fashion sense. People are likely to
follow characters from popular television shows and movies and also closely follow celebrity-driven fashion trends.
A dress worn by any A-list celebrity, such as Jennifer Lopez or Kate Hudson, is likely to attract the media spotlight and
become instantly famous. Top stars, like Jessica Simpson and Lady Gaga, are leading the fashion scene and have

Fashion is an ever-evolving expression of art, culture, and individuality. I believe that while trends can be appealing, it's essential to maintain a personal style that reflects who you are. To some extent, I think everyone is influenced by fashion to a degree, but I prefer to see it as a source of inspiration rather than a set of rigid rules to follow. I make an effort to stay updated with trends, but I prioritize comfort and personal expression in my wardrobe. Ultimately, fashion should be a fun and creative outlet rather than a burden or a form of slavery.

Do you go shopping? Who do you ask for advice?
