PART 2. NARRATIVE

Objectives. The goal for the day was to remain productive despite the suspension of

work in government offices. While on-site work was temporarily halted, I aimed to

continue fulfilling my OJT requirements through remote tasks. I planned to write and

revise my daily journal; compile needed documents for our final portfolio and organize

my digital files. I also intended to review past outputs for consistency and reflect on

what I’ve learned throughout the training. Making meaningful progress despite limited

access to our usual work environment was a personal challenge I wanted to overcome.

Actual Accomplishment/s. Due to the suspension of work as stated under

Memorandum Circular No. 90, our team was unable to report to the Provincial

Engineer’s Office. However, I took this as an opportunity to catch up and stay on track. I

completed journal entries for the past days and made revisions based on observations

and feedback. I also started compiling project records, activity logs, and reports that will

form part of my final portfolio. Reviewing old reports helped me recall key learnings and

improvements I’ve gained so far.

Moreover, I coordinated with my teammates via online messaging to clarify details and

align outputs. We exchanged references and templates to ensure our portfolios meet

the required standards. I also reviewed a previously borrowed sample portfolio, which

helped me understand the structure and formatting expected for the final submission.

Being able to visualize the portfolio’s layout made the process more efficient.

Problem/s Encountered. One of the main difficulties I faced during the day was limited

access to office-exclusive documents and printed references. These materials would

have helped me verify data and improve the accuracy of my records. Additionally, the

work-from-home setup made it more tempting to become distracted and less focused.

Without the structure of an office environment and direct supervision, it took more effort

to stay on task. Internet connectivity was not consistent either, which caused some

delays in coordination with my groupmates.

Action/s Taken. To overcome these issues, I relied on saved digital copies and

materials from previous activities. I also followed a clear to-do list to structure my time

and remain productive throughout the day. Prioritizing tasks that did not require internet

access allowed me to continue working even when offline. When connectivity improved,

I resumed coordination with my teammates and reviewed updated files shared in our

group. This collaboration helped fill in the gaps caused by missing references.

Lesson/s Learned. Today’s experience emphasized the importance of adaptability and

personal discipline, especially in a remote work environment. Being productive outside

the typical workspace requires time management, self-motivation, and a proactive

mindset. I learned that progress is possible even under limited conditions, if we make

use of the resources available and stay committed to our goals. Most importantly, I

realized that consistent effort no matter how small can lead to significant results over

time. This experience also reminded me how collaboration, even virtually, remains

essential for clarity and team alignment. Staying open to feedback, organizing our files

properly, and finding ways to keep moving forward even in uncertain conditions are

habits that will serve us in our future careers.
