Question 2
Adriana Petryna, in a book about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, coined the term "Biological
Citizenship". This refers to the ways in which Ukranian citizens in Chernobyl-affected regions
negotiate with state institutions based on their perceived levels of radiation exposure, to avail the
benefits that are, on paper, offered to all citizens. For instance, some may undergo complex
medical examinations and tests to prove their radiation exposure and establish their eligibility for
state-provided compensation as "Chernobyl-sufferers”. One's citizenship status, generally, comes
with certain rights and guaranteed access to state amenities.
Based on the above passage, what does citizenship DEFINITELY mean for "Chernobyl-sufferers” in
Ukraine?
A. They can become political citizens only once they have proven their suffering.
B. They have access to only biological citizenship, not political citizenship.
C. The benefits of citizenship are dependent on their ability to prove suffering
D. The benefits of citizenship are only easily available to non-sufferers of Chernobyl.

addition to the most popular website on the internet publicly reflected a whole new, informed
evolutionary line of thinking that is otherwise overlooked.

Question 6
Energy policy analysts examining the country’s transition toward renewable energy sources are
evaluating two seemingly contradictory reports on electricity consumption patterns:
Report 1: According to the National Energy Audit, 60% of the total electricity consumed last yea
the country was from urban areas, meaning 40% came from rural regions.
(Source: Journal of Power Economics, 2023)
Report 2: A comprehensive survey by the Rural Power Initiative, found that renewable energy
sources accounted for 55% of all electricity consumed in rural areas last year.
(Source: Sustainability Research Quarterly, 2023)
If both reports are accurate, which of the following must logically be true?
A. Urban areas had lower rates of renewable energy use compared to rural areas last year.
B. Rural areas reduced their non-renewable energy consumption by more than 20% compared to
the previous year.
C. The percentage of the country's total renewable energy that was consumed in urban areas was
less than 60% last year.
D. The total amount of electricity from renewable sources consumed in rural areas exceeded that
consumed in urban areas last year.
Question 7
The Gini Index measures income inequality within a country, with O representing perfect equality
and 100 representing maximum inequality. According to the latest World Bank reports, countries
with a Gini Index above 40 face increasing inequality and related socio-economic challenges.
(Source: World Bank Gini index Report 2022)
