Competition area
Combative sport played by 2 individuals
8.0 x 8.0 m with 2 meters minimum free
zone around it and a clear space without
any obstruction
All lines of the playing area are 1 ½ inches
and must be different from any other
color
Match Lines
> 3.0 meters from the boundary that run perpendicularly to the officials
table 3.5 meters from the boundary line that run parallel to the officials table
Referee Lines
A straight line of 1.0 meter long is drawn 2.5 meters from the farthest boundary
line parallel to the officials table
Warning Lines
Broken straight line drawn 1.0 meter before each boundary line to serve as warning
before the outside zone
Playing Surface
> must be flat and smooth and must not be elevated from the ground
Neutral Corner
> farthest to the officials table in between the 2 judges within the free zone
> this corner shall be the consultation area for the referee and the judges
There are only 3 persons inside the competition area:
1. Red Coded Player
2. Blue Coded Player
3. Referee
Equipment for Combative Sports
Weapon
> The padded stick made of rattan should be the official weapon of the
competitions .
> Each stick should be properly foam cushioned and should have a maximum
grip diameter of not more than 1 ½ inches and length of 30 inches
> Both padded sticks should be color coded, one red and the other blue
Head Protector
> protective headgear (Helmet) that includes an impact worthy face ,mask, the
specifications of which should be in accordance with DepEd Sports Committee
standard
> It must be color coded
Score Board
A pair of scoreboards
Two scoreboards per contest area should be placed at diagonally opposite
corners outside the playing area inside the competition
FLAGS
Two sets of red and blue flags, size of each is 30 cm by 25 cm are used by
judges in declaring decisions or asking for consultations
A yellow flag measuring 30 cm by 25 cm for the timers use to signal the start
and end of the round and to declare time out or resumption of the match.

> Wooden / Rattan Stick
>Wooden Replica or bladed weapon (Filipino ethnic)
- Wooden stick/ yantok – should measure not less than 60 cm. (24 inches) and not more than
90 cm. (36 inches)
FLAGS
Two sets of black and white flags size 30 cm x 25 cm shall be used by corner
officials in declaring violations
Black Flag – Stepping and or going out of the boundary line during anyo
- White flag – Accidental drop of the weapon
Yellow flag size 30 cm x 25 cm shall be used by the timer to declare the start
and end of the performance

Duties and Responsibilities
Coach
-Responsible for the conduct and discipline of the players
-observes the proper decorum such as respect ,courtesy towards officials,
opponents, teammates, and even spectators
- Designated coaches Must be in their DELEGATION UNIFORM.
Assistant Coach
- The assistant coach may sit on the teams bench, but he has no right to
intervene in the match
-In the absence of the coach, or in case the coach leaves during the match
the assistant may take over only after properly informing the table officials who
will give him the authority to assume
Tournament Manager
- Refers to over all administrator and chairperson who directly ensures the
proper implementation of all procedures
Referees and judges
- These are the officials who enforce the conduct of all contests in
accordance with rules and regulations of the game.
CORNER OFFICIALS
- Black Flag –

MATCHER
- arranges the matches and the order of the competition prior to the
tournament, and updates the matches between players during the tournament
proper
TIMER
- keeps the time during the actual match
RECORDER
- tasked with recording the results of the actual game.
