What is Faculty Website Development Tool
It is an online dynamic application that is used for generating template for home pages of the faculty members of BITS, Pilani.
Problem Analysis
At the BITS Pilani all the faculty members are encouraged to create and maintain their web pages. Faculty members face problem when they are not technically experienced with HTML, JavaScript and other web technologies.
The problem was realized that the traditional solution of web development was not efficient .
They were looking for a tool that would permit not computer staff to independently create and maintain web pages while at the same time they can follow standards for website structure, design and style for the entire Institute.
Reasons of facing Problem in web development
All Faculty members dont know how to make website. Those who know they dont follow a uniform pattern.
Design and implementation is different.
Different tools are available for web development. example some people like to use Flash and others might be interested in other technology.
Advantages of Faculty Website Development Tool

Enabling faculty members to develop their homepages irrespective of their background with web development.
Aims at centralizing of faculty data in a database which can be further reused by the management or by the faculty members according to their need. Provides easier and quicker method of homepage development. To reduce manual work.

At BITS Pilani each faculty member is having a 4 digit unique number called PSRN. Therefore, PSRN is used as primary key.
