CLASSROOM

OBSERVATION
ACTIVITY in
EDUC 10
OBSERVER: RYZA ALIANA S.
BALUYOT
AREA 3: Classroom
Management and
Discipline Observation
Objective: To understand the
strategies used by teachers
to manage behavior and
maintain order in the
classroom.
TEACHER 1
Observation: Observe
how the teacher
manages student
behavior during the
class:
What techniques does the teacher
use to get students’ attention?
● From what I have observed in the
first teacher’s techniques is that it
involves many different types of
game based activity that will surely
capture the students’ attention and
focus. Game based activities like
play dancing and the loser will
answer the question.
How are disruptions or misbehavior
handled?
● Teacher 1 uses her own rules and
authority when handling disruption
to class causes by students
misbehavior like being loud, talking
in the back, unwanted action and
etc. When the teacher command
them, they will automatically be
quiet and act behave. Teacher 1
proves that there is still a need of
authority in a classroom.
How does the teacher establish and
enforce rules and routines?
● What I observed in the class
of Teacher 1 is that she have
her own rules in classroom
and since teacher 1 is the first
class of the day, one of the
routines they do is doing the
novina and the class president
and vice president will be the
TEACHER 2
Observation: Observe
how the teacher
manages student
behavior during the
class:
What techniques does the teacher
use to get students’ attention?
● Teacher 2 is very different to
Teacher 1 when it comes to
techniques to get the students
attention. Teacher 2 has her
own aura and seems to have
more authority to the class
because as soon as the Teacher
1 walks to the room, all
How are disruptions or misbehavior
handled?
● Since it seem that the students
are more aware of Teacher 2’s
way of teaching, the students
became more submissive. If there
are any disruption and
misbehavior in the class, once
the teacher notice it and lectured
them, it will be easily resolved
How does the teacher establish and
enforce rules and routines?
● Teacher 2’s rules is
automatically generated by
students when she stepped
in the room. They will
immediately become quite,
arrange their chairs and
bring out their notebooks.
Reflection: After
the observation,
reflect on:
TEACHER 1 & TEACHER 2
REFLECTION
Both teacher 1 and 2 are best when it comes to teaching and
maintaining discipline, they both know how to handle their students’
very well. They do different kinds of activities that captures the attention
of the students and it is an important factors of a teacher. If there are
times that the classroom management are challenged, they will inform
the students what they must do and indulge strategies for students to
follow what is said to them especially for example, when it comes to
cleanliness and doing their task right. One of the things that I also
observe is that teacher’s behavior influence student engagement and
learning. If the students feel like the teacher is liking what they do and
do some effort in teaching them, they will also feel motivated especially
when the teacher make some engaging activities for them to enjoy and
AREA 4:
Instructional
Strategies
and Student
Engagement
Observation
Objective: To analyze the
instructional strategies
used by the teacher and
how
students engage with the
lesson:
TEACHER 1 & 2
The types of instructional strategies used by the
teacher (Is there a variety of methods or is it mostly
lecture-based?).
There are variety of strategies used by Teacher 1 & 2.
There are similarities and differences between them
but all of them are good and effective for students.
Teacher 1 mostly uses game based activities and
engagement strategies to teach students and to
attract their attention. There is also lecture based but
not often. Ehen it comes to Teacher 2, it is also a
different approach. She used a strategy where all
students can answer and say their thoughts. Everyone
has a chance to learn, enjoy and answer. Discovery
Whether the lesson is differentiated to meet the
diverse needs of students.

Both Teacher 1 and 2 is similar when it comes it

comes to handling lesson. They use
differentiated teaching to assess all students
with different abilities and strengths. To meet
the needs of students, thought Teacher 1 and 2
have different approaches, they both find ways
and strategies to made the students adapt and
do some activities that all students can keep up
and provide what they need and improvements.
How students respond to the instructional
methods (Are they engaged? Are they asking
questions or participating?).

In Teacher 1 and 2, I have observed that

though each teacher have different ways in
teaching, both students are participating in
them. They are asking questions and
eagerly answers their questions and even
raising their hands when answering.
REFLECTION

Instructional Materials and Strategies are really important when it

comes to teaching. Teacher 1 and 2’s most effective instructional
materials are game based learning, discovery learning and
collaborative learning. The learning process is also very important,
I notice they both teachers involves questioning and activities that
will engage them to help each other and to think critically. The
students love it when they see that there will be fun in the class
and they will be eager to learn while enjoying.
I also think that it is important that the teachers adjust the learning
and teaching based on the diverse students with different abilities.
It is the factor that ever teachers should consider in teaching
students.
Area 7: Teacher
Reflection and
Feedback
Objective: To engage in reflective
practice and consider how feedback
can enhance classroom dynamics.
Observation
My overall observation throughout the
classroom observation serves as a way
for me to see and analyzed how a true
life of a teacher and student in a
classroom are. I see all sorts of things
like what strategies I can do and how
can I learned from the teachers. I
observed different kinds of students
and personalities and how teachers
deal with them. I think that being able
to adapt to this kind of work is very
important and needs to be apply when
you are put in a situation. They adjust
to their students’ abilities and use

REFLECTION
● The overall reflection to this classroom
observation fills some of my questions
about what a classroom looks like. It is
full of wholesomeness and learning
experiences. It is a good lesson to us
future educators to understand how a of
a teacher really was. It is important to
adjust and to discover new things.
Reflecting to the performance of the
teachers we’ve observed, we can
already see what we have to become. It
