computer's hardware and application programs. If we think of the
computer system as a layered model, the system software is the interface
between the hardware and user applications. The operating system is the
best-known example of system software. The OS manages all the other
programs in a computer.
An Operating System or OS is the most important software that runs on a
computer. It is a program that is responsible for the coordination,
management, and sharing of hardware resources and tasks in the computer

COMPUTER.
A DEVICE DRIVER IS A PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS A PARTICULAR
HARDWARE DEVICE TO WORK AND COMMUNICATE WITH THE
COMPUTER SYSTEM.

The Basic Input/ Output System (BIOS)is a program or code that helps
the processor to interact and control the other components in the computer
like monitor, printer, scanner, card reader, speakers, joystick, microphone,
camera, disc drives, TV/video/sound card, network cards, USB ports, and

Installation (or setup) of a computer program (including device drivers

supports new application software. It contains
many features that help users like geography,
accounting, and others. In using the OS to a
generic desktop computer, you must consider the
hardware specification requirement before
installing it or else the installation will fail. The OS
requirement is written on the cover of the
installation disc or seen in the manual. For a new
laptop, they are automatically designed for the

1. SET THE BOOT ORDER OF THE PC.
IF YOU ARE USING A DVD BOOTABLE DISC, SET THE
FIRST BOOT TO DVD; IF YOU ARE USING BOOTABLE
USB, SET THE FIRST BOOT TO USB.
2. CONNECT THE BOOTABLE DVD OR USB FLASH
DRIVE CONNECT THE BOOTABLE USB DRIVE WITH
WINDOWS 10 TO THE USB PORT OR INSERT WINDOWS10
INSTALLATION DISC IN THE DVD ROM. RESTART THE
PC.

3. PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD/DVD OR USB
AFTER THE POWER-ON SELF-TEST (POST) IS INITIATED, IT WILL
RECOGNIZE THE FIRST BOOT AND WILL LOAD THE CONTENT.

9. Installation type
Decide whether you do the clean
installation or an upgrade. To do
the clean installation, select
Custom. This option enables
you to customize various items,
like partitions.
10. Drive partition
If you want to partition the hard
drive, select the drive 0 then click
“New”. Enter the capacity of the
drive you prefer then click
“Format”. Do the same
procedure on the left drive.
Select the destination partition
for Windows.

11. Setup for personal use or an
Organization. After the Windows
is finished unpacking and installing,
it gives you an option to choose for
personal use or an organization.
Since most of the computers are
used for personal purposes, select
“Set up for personal use” then click
