Nice Agreement

The Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks, commonly known as the Nice Agreement, is a foundational international treaty in the field of trademark law. It was concluded in Nice, France, in 1957, and is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

The main purpose of the Nice Agreement is to establish and maintain a unified, international classification system for goods and services for which trademarks are registered. This system is universally known as the Nice Classification. 

The Nice Classification is a comprehensive system that categorises all goods and services into 45 classes. Classes 1-34 cover various types of goods (products) and Classes 35-45 cover various types of services.
