Update 10/03/2026
Update 10/03/2026
Speaker – Basem “Bas” Kerbage
Join us on the day to hear Basem “Bas” Kerbage (he/him) speak.
Bas is a human rights and queer rights activist and the founder of Queer Arabs Australia. With a background in the not-for-profit sector and fundraising, Bas has been a strong advocate for the rights, dignity and safety of people across the Middle East and North Africa — particularly queer communities connected to Palestine and Lebanon.
Bas believes human rights cannot be selective.
We don’t get to choose who deserves safety, dignity and freedom — we are not free until we are all free.
Through his work and advocacy, Bas continues to amplify voices that are often unheard, while building solidarity across communities and movements.
Performer – Kaiyah Mercedes
We’re excited to welcome Kaiyah Mercedes to the 314 Movement Launch.
At just 19 years old, Kaiyah is already making waves in Melbourne’s indie music scene, blending indie-pop, folk and rock influences with deeply personal songwriting. Their music explores identity, resilience and the emotional landscapes of growing up queer and neurodivergent.
Diagnosed with autism and ADHD at 15 and navigating chronic illness in the years since, Kaiyah channels lived experience into powerful storytelling through music.
But Kaiyah’s performances are more than just music.
They create immersive, emotionally honest spaces where queer, disabled and neurodivergent audiences can feel seen and held.
Kaiyah will perform two live sets across the day, bringing moments of reflection, energy and connection to the event.
Community Stall – Euphoria Social
You’ll find Ten (they/them) and some familiar faces at the Euphoria Social stall on the day.
Ten is a non-binary, queer AuDHDer living on Bunurong Country, currently studying psychology and working as a support worker. They’ve been part of the Euphoria Social community for nearly four years and are passionate about building spaces grounded in accessibility, care and genuine connection.
Their interests sit at the intersection of mental health, gender diversity, sexuality and neurodiversity, and they’ve played an important role in helping shape neurodivergent-friendly spaces within Euphoria Social and the 314 Movement.
Come by the stall to say hello, learn more about Euphoria Social, ask questions, enter the raffle, or grab some merch.
We’ll also have giveaways from Being Wear and LSKD, so make sure you stop by during the day.
More voices.
More stories.
More ways to connect.
The 314 Movement continues to grow — intentionally, and together.
Accessibility Update – Auslan Interpreting
As a grassroots, community-led event, we’re doing our best to build accessibility into the day wherever possible.
We’re pleased to share that Auslan interpreters will be present for the main speaking segments and stage moments throughout the event. This includes the welcome, speaker talks, performances with spoken or sung content, and the closing reflections.
At this stage, we have not been able to confirm Auslan interpreting for the drag performances or the workshop spaces running between 1:00–2:00pm. These segments are more free-flowing and spread across the park, which has made coordinating interpreting support more challenging within our current capacity.
We want to acknowledge that accessibility is an ongoing commitment. Thank you to our interpreters and to the community for helping make this space more inclusive.

Update05/03/2026
We’re thrilled to welcome Jaime Lee Willoughby (they/them), a Queer South African Ceremonialist, Somatic Sex Educator, Devotional Bodyworker and Spiritual Guide. Jaime’s work helps people feel safe enough to come home to the innate magic in their body and heart. They will speak about how alternative healing modalities can support queer folks’ mental health and the historical importance of integrating mental health challenges in community settings. Jaime will also lead the ritual “Expansion of the Queer Heart,” creating a space for queer folk to safely connect to spirituality and ritual, bringing awareness, integration, acceptance, and authenticity.
Martin, LGBTQIA+ Community Development Officer at Yarra City Council, Co-Founder and former president of Melbourne Rubber, will speak on behalf of Yarra City Council, whose Quick Response Grant helped make this event possible. Having spent most of his adult life in Melbourne’s queer community, Martin champions equality, diversity and inclusion, and the power of community-led action.
Reah Saunders (she/they), non-binary and neurodivergent, Co-Chair of Medibank’s Rainbow Collective, will speak about Medibank’s investment in mental health and their role as a major sponsor of the 314 Movement initiative. Reah also supports LGBTQIA+ inclusion through Melbourne Dykes on Bikes and advocacy for equal rights, intersectional representation, and social justice.
Have you sinned lately? You might just meet Dragon Yutahell, a queer shapeshifting, time-travelling Drag King ready to surprise, delight, and bend reality

Update 3/03/2026
Storytelling Mini Masterclass – Gemma Saunders
To support the launch, Gemma is offering her Storytelling Mini Masterclass free of charge on 14 March, and as an ongoing resource aligned to the 314 Movement.Over the years, Gemma has worked with teams, leaders and communities to build confidence in storytelling and courageous conversations. Many people are asked to speak, advocate or represent lived experience — but rarely given tools to do that safely and effectively.
This 30-minute course removes that barrier. It includes a 17-minute video on how to find, shape and share your story, a simple 3-page toolkit with prompts and techniques, and a 5-minute example story demonstrating the framework in action.
This is her contribution to strengthening the “1 person” element of 314 — building practical storytelling skills that deepen connection across community.
Gratitude grounds us.
Breath regulates us.
Story connects us.
Connection protects mental health.
New speaker – Jamal Hakim
Join us on the day to hear Jamal Hakim speak.
Within the queer community, there can sometimes be biases and expectations — and not all of us fit the mould. Jamal will share his perspective on using his skills and leadership to create space for others, particularly from a place of greater confidence and privilege.
Arab visibility in queer spaces can be complex and limited. Jamal is proud to show up fully and give back in ways that foster belonging, representation and community for others navigating similar experiences.
Host announcement – Milo Hartill
Nesquick be damned. Ovaltine move over.
Milo Hartill will be hosting the day, bringing bold energy, humour and serious stage presence. Dubbed “Fitzroyalty,” Milo is known across Australia for burlesque, dance, political comedy content and musical theatre. From Sircuit’s Hey Henny to Poof Doof, Thursgay and Pride of our Footscray — and co-hosting the opening ceremony of Sydney WorldPride 2023 alongside Kylie Minogue, Casey Donovan, Courtney Act and Charli XCX — expect warmth, wit and high energy guiding us through the day.
Speaker – Liz Quinn
Liz Quinn will also be speaking at the event.
With almost 20 years in women’s sports administration and as former AFLW Culture and Leadership Coach at the Richmond Football Club, Liz brings deep insight into leadership and inclusive culture. She co-owns The Aviary Hotel, home to The W Club — Australia’s only dedicated women’s sports bar — a vibrant, athlete-owned venue creating a safe and welcoming space to celebrate women’s sport at every level.
Community stall – What Were You Wearing Australia
What Were You Wearing Australia will have their team present on the day with resources and information.
WWYW is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to ending sexual violence. Led by queer and marginalised community members, they provide free healing groups for victim-survivors and lead advocacy, rallies and education initiatives focused on consent, healthy relationships and violence prevention.
Community stall – The Iceberg Foundation
The Iceberg Foundation will also be joining us.
TIF is a community-led mental health organisation supporting people at the intersections of neurodivergence, queerness and global majority (BIPOC) experiences. Their work centres collective healing and community care grounded in lived experience and anti-oppressive practice.
More voices.
More tools.
More ways to connect.
The 314 Movement continues to grow — intentionally, and together.
Update 24/02/2026
Since our last post, we’ve added a few new things to the program:
Guided Park Walk – Ashley Dell’Oro from Invictus Health will be leading a gentle walk through Edinburgh Gardens. A chance to pause, reflect, and connect with the 314 practice while moving through the space.
New voices and workshops – Oscar will be speaking at the event, sharing insights and stories. Umeed Psychology will be running a workshop and hosting a stall, highlighting their incredible initiatives The Third Place Up and Queer South Asians.
Live performance – Craven Moorehead will be hitting the grass with performance, energy, and good vibes.
Update on tickets
Our free Community Tickets have now been fully claimed — thank you! Truly, the response has been overwhelming.
To keep this event sustainable and ensure we can continue offering peer-led, low-barrier spaces like this, we’ve opened a limited number of Standard Community Tickets.
These tickets include light grazing and non-alcoholic refreshments. There will be no tickets available at the door, so registration is essential.
If cost is a barrier, please reach out — $0 and pay what you feel is always welcome. We want everyone who wants to attend to be able to.
Waitlist is now open. If we are able to make more tickets available, we’ll notify people on the waitlist first.
This isn’t about money. It’s about keeping this space alive, accessible, and safe for our community now and in the future.
Feb 20th update
Feb 20th update
We’ve just released some new updates for the 314 Movement Launch, and I wanted to share them properly because this day is shaping up to be something really special.
For three hours on the day, we’ll be offering free haircuts thanks to Thatscissorgirl — a fade queen, mullet enthusiast and all-round confidence dealer. But this is about more than a haircut. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe, seen and comfortable. Clean blends, fresh fades, and a chair where diversity, inclusivity and individuality are celebrated. If you’re in that chair, you’re family.
We’ve also announced our first speaker, Julie Jones.
Julie is a mature age Trans Woman who will be sharing her personal journey through depression, suicide, ASD, coming out, and the importance of community-based services. Her story is honest and deeply human. It speaks to hardship, resilience, and what it means to keep choosing life — and community — even when things feel impossible. We’re honoured she’s trusting us with her story.
Workshops are another important part of the day.
LGBT+ Social Hub Melbourne will be running a Core Values workshop, focused on understanding who we are and what matters most to us. When we’re clear on our values, we make choices that align more closely with the person we want to be. It’s simple, practical and powerful.
Joti Gore will also be offering interactive wellness sessions throughout the event — short, accessible practices including breathing techniques, guided meditation and a gentle no-mat yoga flow on the grass. These are tools people can take with them long after the day ends.
The 314 Movement Launch isn’t about big stages or production. It’s a grassroots. It’s community-first. It’s about creating space — for stories, for healing, for connection.
This event has sold out once already!
Description
The 314 Movement Launch - Mar 14, 2026
Presented by: Euphoria Social in partnership with Community Bank Clifton Hill–North Fitzroy
Auslan interpreters supporting the speaker and performance segments.
A community picnic for everyday wellbeing
The 314 Movement Launch is a free, peer-led community event introducing Australia’s first LGBTQIAPN+ mental health initiative built around a simple daily practice:
3 Gratitudes
1 Support
4 Breaths
We’ll be gathering outdoors in North Fitzroy to share food, stories, creativity, and time together. This isn’t a talk, a lecture, or a workshop you have to complete — it’s a gentle check-in with yourself and with each other.
This is not a clinical space.
It’s a grassroots community event.
Register to join us – Tickets are free, but spaces are limited. Reserve yours so you don’t miss out!
What is the 314 Movement?
The 314 Movement is a peer-led mental health initiative for LGBTQIAPN+ communities by Euphoria Social.
It aims to:
Reduce stigma around mental health
Encourage early help-seeking
Strengthen community connection
The 314 Check-In is simple, repeatable, and accessible:
3 Gratitudes – what you’re thankful for
1 Support – a person, place, or service that supports you
4 Breaths – slow, grounding breaths
The launch event introduces this practice through peer-led activities, storytelling, workshops, and lived-experience leadership.
