Dash RPC: Why should you choose it?

This blockchain is a Bitcoin fork, a hybrid cryptocurrency with the elements of Proof-of-Work (PoW) design and validator masternodes. It was first introduced in January 2014 as "Xcoin" by Evan Duffield.

  • Its RPC APIs can’t host smart contracts. Its toolkit looks like the one of Bitcoin, and, therefore, is basically only suitable for payments. At the same time, as a popular cryptocurrency asset, it can be integrated in wallets, CEXes, trading bots and other Web3 services.

  • In the 2017-2018 bullish rally, the cryptocurrency became the top instrument for cross-border remittances in Latin America. Its popularity in Venezuela was compared to that of Web3 payments systems for global transactions. Also, it was in the Top-15 of cryptos by market capitalization. The crypto is also popular among the fans of decentralization and old-time Bitcoiners.

  • In 2014-2019, the protocol was promoted as a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Users were able to send the transactions in either regular or obfuscated ways. However, when regulators started cracking down on privacy cryptocurrencies, the team decided to drop this status. As such, it managed to avoid being delisted from largest centralized exchanges globally.

  • Unlike Bitcoin, It leverages the X11 mining algorithm. It is also one of the few PoW cryptocurrencies that has decentralized autonomous organization as a part of its governance design. 45% of blockchain rewards goes to miners while the other 45% goes to masternode operators with 1000+ tokens staked.
