   I have a non-technical job. I build things on the side because I like having things I made. That is it, really. AI makes that possible in a way it was not five years ago, and I would rather be honest about how I use it than pretend otherwise.

   Before I touch a new language or framework, I learn the basics first. Not deeply, but just enough to know what I am holding. Then when I build, I try to understand at least 90% of what the code is doing. Not as a performance metric, but because I want to feel like I am driving, not being driven.
