A downloadable tool
Bunny Retro Studio - Retro/8bit/MIDI music maker
The pocket-sized DAW for pixel-perfect tunes.
Making chiptune music shouldn't feel like programming a spaceship. Bunny Retro Studio is a lightweight, pattern-based music sequencer designed for indie devs and retro enthusiasts. Inspired by the ease of modern piano rolls but powered by the crunchy sounds of 8-bit, it is the fastest way to score your next pixel art game.
Whether you need a looping background track or a short jingle, just drag, drop, and export.

Updates
- Added MIDI file export
- More presets to quickly create tracks!
Features
- 4-Track Sequencing: Classic chiptune setup—Lead (Square), Second Lead (Saw), Bass (Triangle), and Noise Drums.
- Add more tracks as you want!
- Sound Design Controls: Don't just place notes—sculpt them. Adjust Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release (ADSR) and Timbre per track.
- Multi-Bar Workflow: Write up to 8 bars of music using the intuitive "Page" system.
- Smart Piano Roll: A modern interface that supports dragging, resizing, and multi-selection.
- Save & Export: Save your projects as .json to edit later, or export instantly as High-Quality .WAV files ready for your game engine.
- GBA Aesthetic: A dark, comfortable UI inspired by the Game Boy Advance palette.
- NOTE: I am still thinking about giving this tool the ability to play more than 1 notes in 1 step of the same track. It is not conventional for retro/chiptune music creator, but may be useful. I don't know. Leave comments if you guys want that, and I will update the tool.

How to Install & Run
Important: Because this is a portable application, it does not install to your computer.
- Download the .zip file.
- Right-click the file and select "Extract All...".
- Do not try to run the app from inside the zip file; it will not save files correctly.
- Open the extracted folder and double-click bunny-retro-studio.exe.
Note: If Windows Defender warns you about an "Unknown Publisher," this is normal for indie tools. Click "More Info" then "Run Anyway."

Any chance you could add an 'export to MIDI file' option?
ha! It is already in the work. :D Please stay tune for the MIDI update.
update for MIDI exporter is live! Seriously I have not thought of MIDI when I was packaging this; even though it is perfect for MIDI creation. This is our internal tool to create BGM quickly, and since we are working mainly with Unity so WAV is our main concern.
Haha, brilliant thank you! The tool is great fun to play with, and MIDI was the last missing piece :)
I am glad you like it :D
please share this to your friends, too! Thank you so much!
