New 'Keroro Gunsou' TV Anime Announced for Fall 2026

The official website for the Keroro Gunsou (Sgt. Frog) anime series announced a new television anime on Tuesday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The new anime adapting Mine Yoshizaki's comedy sci-fi manga is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2026.

Yoshizaki began drawing the manga in Shounen Ace in November 1999. Kadokawa published the 34th volume in August 2024, with the 35th volume planned for a December 26 release. VIZ Media licensed the manga under its VIZ Select imprint for digital release in English in December 2014.

Produced by Sunrise, a television adaptation of the manga aired in 358 episodes from Spring 2004 to Spring 2011. The Keroro short television anime premiered in Spring 2014.

The first movie adaptation of the series premiered in Japanese theatres in March 2006, followed by Keroro Gunsou Movie 2 in 2007, Keroro Gunsou Movie 3 in 2008, Keroro Gunsou Movie 4 in 2009, and Keroro Gunsou Movie 5 in 2010.

@SapioGalion Their decision on full recast is just strange to me considering they will brought the OG cast back for one last time for the new 2026 movie. Like, why don't they either just keep the OG cast for the remake or use the new cast for 2026 movie instead given that it has been a decade since the last time the OG cast voiced them (Excluding the game collabs)?

They will be recasting the entire cast as one of the ways that they are envisioning a reboot from scratch

I played a lot of the import games for it back on the PS2 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe it's finally time I checked out the anime after so long.

I'll definitely try to check it out. Keroro has been a series I've wanted to get into for a while now. I saw the Flash series as it aired a long time ago, and I remember that one being fine, so I'm a little excited to check this one out too!
