Chromophone drifts through a dream-temple carved in light and reverb, a place where tones hang like incense and time loops in soft, uneven spirals.

The song began as a depersonalized sketch after a solo trip through northern Arizona, inspired by the warped nostalgia of Boards of Canada and the uneasy stillness of early Aphex Twin, along with the layered textures of Sweet Trip and Stereolab. A year later, I returned to it with guitar and vocals, pulling something melodic and human through the fog.

It opens with hypnotic synth textures and field recordings, then slowly fractures into chopped vocals, rock inspired electronic drums, and washed-out shoegaze guitar. Built in 7/8, Chromophone flickers between math rock structure and dream pop blur, balancing clarity and distortion in equal measure.
