this was a very cute read!
i've always been fascinated by the various ways scientists personally relate to their specific research interests, especially when they're interested in more microscopic aspects.
at that scale, it very much feels like there has to be a strong love of the process.
this was a very cool read, i never really thought about all this. cells are pretty neat, you can say hi to them for me next time you see them.
also i found your games through a comment you left on the biome bulletin board. the ways that led me here huh
how did u get those fancy transitions? (like the dissolve one) they're cool pls tell me
the template i used included them! they're from the public transit module in the decker docs.
tysm!!
Science is awesome, in the sense that I always look at the samples in awe
It's such an experience to see tiny cells moving around, but to see human cells doing that must be WILD. Very cool!
the cells i work with like to stick to the bottom of the dish (and each other) so they don't move around much, but there are human cell types that are pretty active! i'm thinking of this one in particular. it's SO wild.

omg look at him go! life is so strange and awesome!
Huge fan of hot-pink here so I loved the colour scheme! This has made me want to look into Decker and see what else it can do :D
decker rocks! i kept it pretty simple with this one, but it can do a lot more. check out the contraption bazaar
I just spent the last 3 hours going through all the developers 'modules' they've made for Docker and learning about custom scripting XD
I'll definitely be making something with it soon!
YES!!!!!!!
Very, very cool. I didn’t realize you were on the Deck wave as well, as I’ve only ever seen your website. I’ll keep an eye out for more :)
yesss i'm loving the deck wave! any tool that lets me export to HTML this easily is a winner
Super neat little insight into a researcher's relationship with the cells they're studying. I loved the end "Look. Look closer." It felt almost reverent, if that makes sense? Thanks so much for sharing this
that's the feeling i was trying to express. i'm glad you could feel it too :) thank you!
Something I love about Decker is how it encourages stuff like this - just open ended, experimental, reflective stuff that feels very mixed media art. This game brought Weird Web to my attention which I am very glad to discover! Assuming that the game draws from your own experiences of biomedical research, it was interesting to get a little glimpse into what that work looks like - keep fighting the good fight against cancer if so!
thank you! yes, this was written from my personal experience in the lab. i spend a lot of time thinking about these cells, so they tend to come up again and again in the things i make. weird web october was super fun - i hope it comes back this year!
