NET-Simulator was created to help lecturers and students in the study of computer networks. Students can build virtural networks in the virtual environment provided by NET-Simulator. These devices are controlled by means of command line interface.

A newer version is available for mac at https://cowpod.net/projects/raspiemu, which supports the Raspberry Pi 2, multiple instances, as well as CLI and GUI management. The purpose of the cinc project is to develop an emulator for Bell Labs' Cardiac (cardboard illustrative aid to computation) computer. The main product from this project is a Java program called jcinc.
