An application to provide a worldwide mobile secure/confidential payment system over the internet and other kinds of insecure/unreliable networks

This project integrates a project under development on Ubicomp at DSI (Departamento de Sistemas de Informação) from University of Minho, Portugal. This is the prototype developed for my master thesis.

Why Is libxc needed? There doesn't exist a library for ANSI C99 for common data containers, such as vectors, trees, etc. There also also doesn't exist a library for common functionality, such as error reporting/logging, string functions, configuration management (reading config files), etc... The programmer working in C doesn't have anything analogous to the Boost C++ library. The extended C library is intended to make some headway into providing this functionality. To ensure unrestricted usage the libxc project is provided under the very permissive BSD license. Overdose is a simple Yahoo! Chat client written in C, and using the curses library for text I/O. It is multithreaded using pthreads, and works on Linux/BSD/Unix and Windows.

This project introduces new FPGA architectural tools and Linux OS modifications that aid in supporting Dynamic Partial Reconfiguration (DPR) on FPGAs for concurrent control. It shows that control systems benefit from hardware concurrency, meaning that by moving the control intelligence into hardware, the negative effects inherent to threads and their scheduler are minimized. This leaves software with the role of a high-level administrator rather than an executor, thereby eliminating unnecessary bottlenecks. The tools described in this project enable the hardware engineer to develop DPR-FPGA systems more effectively for rapid control system development. Simple Lossless Ad-hoc Protocol (SLAP) is designed to be used for wireless digital data transfer on embedded systems. The program is built for uClinux, a derivative of Linux designed for embedded microcontrollers, but can be easily ported.
