Use

The Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R is a Blaster class weapon in Splatoon 3. It uses chip damage to help the player's teammates and range to do it from a distance. Its set is very supportive:

  • Suction Bomb can be thrown to force opponents out of an area.
  • The Suction Bomb also paints a relatively large area which can help the main weapon's poor paint.
  • Tacticooler will boost the abilities of teammates that take a drink from it. This special is highly relevant to the meta.

Synergy

Since the Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R may not get as many Tacticoolers as some other weapons such as Heavy Edit Splatling or N-Zap, pairing it with these for a double cooler comp can be beneficial.

Countermeasures

  • The Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R has a sort of awkward spot in its range where if an opponent is too close, shots can go past them without the opponent getting hit by chip damage, yet the opponent is far away enough to not be easily hit with directs. Entering this awkward spot can make it very difficult for the weapon to hit you.

Gear abilities

Quick Super Jump

Just one sub of QSJ reduces the vulnerable frames of a super jump from 80 to 58. This makes a sub of QSJ essential on almost every weapon as it makes it significantly easier to jump out of a dangerous position and quicker to jump back in after being splatted.

Special Charge Up

Tacticooler is an incredibly useful special weapon. As such the Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R user will want to get as many tacticoolers as they can for the team. The weapon has mediocre paint and 200 points for special so SCU is incredibly useful to increase cooler output.

Special Power Up

Even with SCU, the Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R is unlikely to get as many Tacticoolers per game as options with better paint such as the N-Zap, Heavy Edit Splatling and Snipewriter 5H. Special Power Up will increase the duration of Tacticooler effect. Just 2 subs increases the effect duration from 17 seconds to 19.017 seconds.

Swim Speed Up

SSU is a highly useful ability that allows the player to move more quickly while swimming. Since Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R struggles against faster weapons, using this ability can be beneficial to get out of their way and into a safer position faster.

Intensify Action

Like most blasters, the Rapid Blaster Pro WNT-R suffers from extreme jump RNG. IA can reduce jump RNG with the added benefit of faster squid rolls and squid surges.

Last-Ditch Effort

LDE is a valuable ability on most anchor weapons. It is a headgear-exclusive ability that gradually gives the player Ink Saver (Sub), Ink Saver (Main), and Ink Recovery Rate Up after the opponents reach 50 points remaining to KO. At full effect it allows the weapon to fire 16 shots before refilling and decreases Suction Bomb ink consumption from 70% to 57.59%.

Ink Resistance Up

Ink Resistance Up is a highly useful utility sub. One sub increases movement speed in enemy ink from 0.24 distance units per frame to 0.334 distance units per frame, gives 10 frames of invulnerability to enemy ink damage before it starts damaging the player, makes the player take 12 damage per second from enemy ink rather than 18 and decreases maximum damage taken from standing in enemy ink from 40 to 38.

Sub Resistance Up

SRU is another highly useful utility sub. One sub decreases lethal bomb splash damage from 30 to 28.5 while also decreasing nonlethal bomb damage, decreasing negative effects from toxic mist and decreasing tracking time from ink mines, point sensors and angle shooters.

Stealth Jump

Stealth Jump is a footwear-exclusive ability that hides the super jump marker from distant opponents. This is very useful as otherwise jumping to a teammate after a death often leads to getting splatted quickly by a weapon such as the E-Liter 4K.
