Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope all of you had a good start into the year 2026 and that your resolutions didn't already get dropped (if you didn't work on them today, do so beginning tomorrow!).

Usually I like to post these "New Years" messages at the 31st of December, however, on the evening of the 31st of December 2025 I was rather occupied with fine meals and other merriments (as many of you probally were) and thus didn't get quite to it. Not to worry however; new years greetings and wishes are also more than justified on the 1st of January.

Anyways; I wish all of you a good, healthy and also successful year 2026! May your resolutions bear fruits, may your worthwhile or otherwise good endeavours be of good success, may the Lord bless and strenghten you and your families and may the year turn out to generally be a good one. Praise be to God!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Today we once again celebrate Christmas (according to the Gregorian calendar); to be more specific Christmas Eve as of this message being posted. Even with Christmas not just being one day but rather a whole liturgical season, I still have to pick one Christmas-Day to post this message and Christmas Eve is a nice date for it in my opinion (and the one I also chose in the past for these greetings).

All that to say that I wish each and every one of you a merry, joyous and blessed Christmas. May you feast on fine meals, be of good health (not just during Christmas but in general) and may you spend the days in general merriment; whether you're hosting relatives and/or friends, being hosted or spending the days in the calm of your own walls. But, even more important than those aspects: Be also sure to spend the days in devotion to and celebration of the one whose day of Birth – now over 2000 years ago – is the sole reason we're even celebrating Christmas: Christ our Savior, for it was with his birth that the redemption of mankind began. Praise be to Christ!
