"Mais c'est de toute beautéééé," we all agree to say. So much so that it would be interesting to erase all memories of this game to start it again for the umpteenth time and never get bored.

I discovered The Witcher through word of mouth; unfortunately, since the gameplay was very restrictive in the first and second opus, I didn't really appreciate them. I still took the plunge with The Witcher 3 last year, and in the end, I received a huge slap in the face, all in a few points.

A super engaging story, attractive/dynamic gameplay – not revolutionary, but still very different from the other RPGs we are used to playing. The game has beautiful graphics and well-chosen color tones. The story is enriching, containing surprises here and there with a qualitative bestiary, although I personally expected a bit more; I find it a bit too short.

Having become a fan of this universe, I naturally bought the 7/8 volumes of The Witcher book series and obtained "Gwent," the official card game by CD PROJEKT RED, which I highly recommend.

As you know, it is advisable to play TW1/TW2 before the third. I confess I struggled when it came to making important choices where I didn't know what could happen next. A quick visit to "witcher.wikia" helped me a lot to learn more about some characters without spoiling, but the gaming experience was a bit frustrating sometimes due to my lack of knowledge. So, don't do as I did, or spoil yourself badly with the first two games.

I play quite "quickly," I don't skip cutscenes or side quests: I just go from quest to quest very quickly with Ablette (the horse, his name in french). From this, by finishing the base game and its two DLCs, I've played for 100 hours of gameplay. If you take your time, enjoy the game without rushing, you can finish the game 100% with at least 150 hours under your belt, maybe even 200 hours, depending on your playstyle.

This game deserves to be paid for, not hacked: the entire team has worked well and offered DLCs that are really worth it – in terms of content/price/gameplay time provided. The first DLC will give you an additional 10/15 hours of gameplay, and the second will almost double that.

Regarding the various activities: there are main quests, side quests, treasure hunts, and elimination contracts – so you'll have plenty to do! I recommend doing all the quests from village to village; don't go back and forth and get lost in quest tracking. You arrive in your first village? Finish the side quests first before moving on to the second village.

In addition to quests obtained from NPCs and quest boards, you can defeat bandit camps or monster nests to free up space and let the former inhabitants regain control. Also, don't hesitate to visit haunted places or caves filled with monsters to discover magnificent treasures with weapon and armor construction plans.
