Can’t remove Footer widget
-
Hello,
I have been unable to locate the widget or Menu that will remove the footer widget or allow me to edit it. The widget option in the appearance menu currently has no widgets in at all. When I go to the customize menu there is no edit icon in the Blue circle that shows up to allow editing for his footer widget area.
However, when I hover in this widget a tool tip pops up that says: “shift-click to edit this widget” This command does not work either.
Thank you

Hello and thank you for the speedy response. However, the documentation you directed me to actually helps me better describe the issue. The Footer widget box that the documentation is pointing to in the illustration; in my theme is blank. There are no widgets in it, yet I have what appears to be demo text in that space on my theme as shown here: https://wordpress.org/themes/kyma/
There is also a navigation menu in the lower footer with the copyright that I do not have as a menu in my site menus tab for.
I was wondering, since the theme did not come with its own child-theme, could the child-theme I created via a plugin (child theme configuratior) be causing this issue.
Thanks
Hi,
If you haven’t added any widget in Appearance 》 widgets 》 Secondary / Footer widget area
It’s by default shows some default widget. Once you will add widget in it ( Secondary widget area) it will replace default widgets in footer.
And as for menu besides copyright section in footer, go to
Appearnace 》 Menus 》 Create new menuCheck Secondary menu checkbox in bottom ( Primary menu is to show menu in Header and Secondary menu is for Footer)
Save menu.
Add items in this menu to show them in footer or leave blank to show nothing.
Thank you
