• After selecting options in settings they do not remain ‘on.

WordPress 6.8.3 Twentyeleven theme (yes, I know its getting on a bit)
Have tried disabling plugins, nothing in error logs or showing with debug = true

I use WP Solid Security basic which I have tried disabling together with any obviously overlapping plugins. File permissions check out ok

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@andy60103 the obvious question: after toggling on modules in ASE settings page, have you click on “Save Changes”? If so, do you see any error message after the page reload? Please also check the browser console and your debug.log / server error log.

Yes, I do Save but when the screen rewrites the options are Off again!

There are no messages with DEBUG=TRUE and nothing obvious in the standard error logs.

The website is in a subdirectory named after the site, which is one level below /public ie /public_html/sitename/wp-content but I would have thought the options would be saved in the database anyway?
    Thanks for looking at this

I see. That’s strange. I’m not able to observe it and you’re currently the only user reporting this.

ASE is never really tested in a subdirectory install, so, that could be one cause. I wonder why you’re using a subdirectory install?… By the way, is it a multisite install?

Hi, thanks for your quick responses.

It’s not not multisite. Subdirs were used as an early anti-hack tactic to disguise the active folder but this goes back some years before modern security suites etc. I will move it all up a level one day, but it is a pain to relink the images even with the available utilities. I will try it on a more recent site with a conventional install but I have to do that sort of thing at night when I have some sort of free time!
