Carney fuels Middle East escalation by supporting illegal US-Israeli attacks

Montreal, March 2, 2026 — Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) condemns the Canadian government’s unconditional support for illegal US-Israeli attacks on Iran that have killed over 550 Iranians, and have sparked a devastating regional war. The ongoing regime change operation, led by war criminals Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, is a dangerous and unlawful act of aggression that has sabotaged negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. CJPME urges Canada to retract its support for the US-Israeli attacks, condemn this violation alongside allies like Spain, Ireland, and Norway, and to push for an immediate ceasefire from all parties.

Israeli Opposition Leader Yair Lapid echoes US Ambassador's support for Israeli occupation of the Middle East

Montreal, February 25, 2026 — Following alarming statements from top U.S. and Israeli officials in support of Israel’s “right” to take over the entire Middle East, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) is urging the Canadian government to speak out and urgently act against Israel’s colonial expansionism, annexation, and regional wars. CJPME warns that these statements in support of the concept of “Greater Israel” should not be taken lightly, as they occur as Israel is expanding its control over Palestine and Syria, bombing Lebanon, and threatening war with Iran.

The Toll of Intent: Looking at the Genocidal Impact of Israel's Assault on Gaza

This report synthesizes existing data to project that between 14% and 20% of Gaza's pre-October 7, 2023, population (approximately 341,000–480,800 Palestinians) could ultimately be killed as a result of Israel's operations and the subsequent conditions by 2030 without urgent intervention from Canada and its allies. The report uses existing estimates and modelling to define various projections of Palestinian deaths for the different possible outcomes of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. The report concludes that the case that Israel has committed genocide is strong and supported by a growing body of scholarly and grey literature from the UN and NGOs..  Access the full report here.

Intended to Fail: Systemic Anti-Palestinian Racism and Canada’s Gaza Temporary Resident Visa Program

This report examines the ways that Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has failed to reunite Canadians with their Palestinian family members stuck in Gaza through the Temporary Resident Visa Program for Gazans (TRV), as Israel wages a plausible genocide and campaign of mass starvation. The TRV program is a special immigration measure launched by IRCC in early 2024 to save family members of Palestinian Canadians subject to a genocidal assault in Gaza.  Access the full report here.

Tell Carney: Oppose Illegal Attacks on Iran

The United States and Israel have launched an illegal attack on Iran that has killed over 780 Iranians in the first days and sparked a devastating regional war. The United Nations has condemned the attack for violating the UN Charter and undermining international peace and security. The regime change operation, led by war criminals Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, is a dangerous and unlawful act of aggression that has sabotaged negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. Despite the blatant illegality of this war, however, Prime Minister Carney expressed unconditional support for the US-Israeli attacks, saying that “Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security.” As Trump and Netanyahu drag the region into war, Canada is shamefully cheering them on. Canada should be a voice for de-escalation, not a booster for US-Israeli aggression. Join us in emailing Prime Minister Carney and Foreign Minister Anand to demand that they retract their support for illegal US-Israeli attacks on Iran and impose sanctions on Israel.

Tell Minister Solomon: We Don’t Need Israel’s Genocidal AI

It is outrageous that Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence, recently met with the Israeli Ambassador to promote “dialogue” and engagement on AI and economic development. It is well documented that the Israeli military uses Israeli AI and tech in the surveillance and targeting of Palestinians, using automation to develop kill lists and facilitate its genocide in Gaza. Israel’s 'world-leading' tech sector uses occupied Palestine as a laboratory to test out its new technology, which is taking increasingly repressive and murderous forms. Minister Solomon’s “dialogue” with Israel on AI raises the alarm that Canada may be seeking to develop partnerships with Israeli tech and AI companies, at the same time as those companies continue to facilitate illegal occupation, apartheid, and genocide. This shows a complete lack of judgment and flies in the face of Canada’s commitment to human rights. Join us in emailing Minister Solomon and Prime Minister Carney to tell them we don’t need Israel’s genocidal AI. Instead, Canada should sanction Israeli tech for its complicity in genocide.

    Israel’s Illegal War on Iran

Israel’s Illegal War on Iran Factsheet Series No. 251, created: June 2025, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East   View factsheet in PDF format CJPME Factsheet 251, published June 2025: Amid ongoing diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding its nuclear program, Israel launched airstrikes on June 13, 2025, targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and civilian infrastructure. Without evidence, Israel claimed the assault was a “pre-emptive” measure to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. In the first week alone, Israel’s strikes have killed hundreds of Iranian civilians.[1] Iran responded with ballistic missile attacks, triggering a series of escalating exchanges which could lead to a catastrophic regional war.
