Deepening Neurodivergent-Affirming Practice: A Justice-Oriented Supervision Space
A reflective supervision space for therapists working
within complex systems
This group reflective supervision space is for therapists and clinicians who are working with neurodivergent people (and/or who are neurodivergent themselves), and who want protected time to think, feel, question, unlearn, and make sense of their work within wider systems of power.
It is not a space for case management, performance monitoring, or fixing problems quickly. Instead, it offers something many therapists say they rarely get: time and permission to slow down, reflect together, and stay with complexity.
-
A closed group supervision space designed with a semi-structured format, for therapists committed to moving beyond compliance-based models of neurodivergence and into a practice rooted in the Neurodiversity Paradigm (Walker, 2014), Disability Justice (Sins Invalid, 2005), and intersectionality theory (Crenshaw, 1989).
-
A reflexive space for those who want to unlearn pathologising frameworks, challenge systemic ableism, and deepen their understanding of neurodivergence through a social justice lens.
Grounded in the above principles, this space invites therapists to critically examine the language, frameworks, and practices that shape their work. Together, we will explore the power of language—not just as a tool for describing neurodivergence but as a means of liberation, resistance, and self-definition.
This is not just supervision, it is a transformative group space for therapists to explore, unlearn, and rebuild practice in alignment with justice, liberation, and authentic neurodivergent experience beyond the whiteness of 'neurodiversity-lite' (Neumeier, 2018; den Houting, 2018).

Share relevant articles, books, and experiences.

Stay connected with like-minded therapists committed to deepening their practice.
Engagement is optional, but this space is designed to enrich your learning and provide a network of solidarity beyond the monthly group supervision spaces.
I'm committed to disability justice, and will strive to ensure accessibility is prioritised throughout. This commitment is also reflected in my approach to pricing.
In order to make the space accessible to people with disabilities, key accessibility considerations include:
-
Closed captions available on all zoom calls
-
Inclusion of spoken and written visual descriptions during sessions
-
Provision of visuals prior to sessions
-
Screen-reader compliant resources
-
Options to contribute asynchronously, including using chat functions and mentimeters
-
Invitations to bring regulating tools into the space, e.g., fidgets.

What this space is (and isn’t)
This group is:
-
Reflective rather than directive
-
Curious rather than judgemental
-
Politically aware and systems‑focused
-
Grounded in neurodiversity‑affirming and anti‑oppressive values
-
Attentive to nervous systems, capacity, and care
-
Accountability building and acknowledges harm
This group is not:
-
A training course
-
A space for productivity targets or outcomes
-
A place where you’re expected to have the “right” language already
-
A space where one person carries responsibility for educating everyone else
This space is likely to be a good fit if you:
-
Work with neurodivergent people and feel the strain of doing that work inside non‑affirming systems
-
Are navigating leadership, consultancy, or “expert” roles and feeling the weight of that
-
Want space to sit with ethical tensions rather than rush to solutions
-
Value reflection, dialogue, and shared sense‑making
-
Are willing to engage with discomfort, uncertainty, and unlearning
You do not need to be confident, "articulate", or “further along” in your journey.
We're now several groups in and have a folks working in different roles, including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Counselling, Clinical Psychology and Clinical Academics.
Who this group tends to suit
How safety and care are held
We co‑create brave space practices together, recognising that:

Group members are encouraged to:
-
Look after their bodies (movement, snacks, rest)
-
Take breaks or step away when needed

Additional 1:1 supervisions
There is an option to have a few additional 1:1 supervisions during the 6 months, at a reduced cost, too.

There will be a small number of reduced-cost student therapist subscriptions available, too.

Commitment to Redistribution and Accountability
As a white, neurodivergent facilitator working within a profession that continues to centre whiteness and dominant norms, I hold a responsibility to engage in deeper, ongoing anti-oppressive work. This includes actively seeking support, supervision, and co-creation input from people of the global majority and those from other historically marginalised groups. I do not speak for, or on behalf of, people whose lived experiences differ from my own — especially those impacted by racism, colonialism, and other intersecting oppressions.
In line with Disability Justice principles of collective access, interdependence, and leadership of those most impacted, I set aside part of the group’s income to pay people of the global majority and other people from underserved communities for their emotional labour, wisdom, and time. This might include guest facilitation, resource contributions, or consultation that deepens the group’s reflection and accountability.

FAQ's
Can I carry on with my individual clinical supervision arrangements if I join the Liberatory Supervision Group?
Yes! We are going to be thinking systemically and structurally and whilst you will be able to reflect on individual client work, or hold people in mind during group supervisions, it isn't a place to work through client-specific situations. Continuing with your individual clinical supervision arrangements would be complementary to your learning in the Liberatory Supervision Group.
I really want to join the Liberatory Supervision Group, but I don't think I can afford it.
I understand that everyone has different financial means and that these can change month to month. I operate using a Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method and can facilitate a few lower cost sliding scale places in this community. Let's discuss, get in touch with me.
Who is the Liberatory Supervision Group for?
This space is for registered therapists who want to deepen their neurodivergent-affirming practice while integrating disability justice, intersectionality, and anti-oppressive approaches. It’s designed for those who are ready to critically examine traditional therapy models, unlearn pathologising frameworks, and develop new ways of working that honour neurodivergent experiences.
Do I have to be neurodivergent to join?
No! This space is open to all therapists (regardless of neurotype) who are committed to learning, reflecting, and engaging in affirming practice. That said, the space is explicitly neurodivergent-affirming and centred, meaning that traditional clinical frameworks may be challenged, and neurodivergent experiences will be prioritised rather than 'othered'.
Do I have to commit to all 6 sessions?
Yes, this is a closed group, meaning participants commit to the full 6-month series. This structure ensures continuity, trust, and deeper collective learning, allowing us to build a reflective, reflexive and supportive space over time. By committing to all 6 sessions, you gain the full benefit of sustained supervision, with each session building on previous discussions and themes.
What if I miss a supervision session?
If you subscribe to join the Liberatory Supervision Group and miss a session, you’ll still receive any resources or key takeaways from the discussion. You will also still have access to the Whats App Community discussions and reflections. However, due to the nature of live supervision, sessions won’t be recorded to maintain privacy and confidentiality. If you know in advance that you can’t attend, please let me know!
What happens after the 6 months are finished?
I'm in the process of organising ongoing supervision group spaces for members of the Liberatory Group Supervisions. Several original members have repeated the 6 months again, essentially committing to 12 months of group supervision.
