I. RATIONALE:

The 1987 Philippine Constitution (Article XIV, Section 19) mandates the State
to promote physical education and encourage sports programs to foster self-
discipline, teamwork, and excellence. In line with the Palarong Pambansa Act (RA
10588), local government units (LGUs) and Department of Education (DepEd)
officials are encouraged to take a proactive role in institutionalizing sports excellence.
As Agusan del Sur prepares to host the 66th Palarong Pambansa in May 2026, there is
a critical need to align local capabilities with international and national standards.
As a school administrators, we are also tasked to provide quality sports
facilities and equipment for our learners to engage in sports activities. Through this
benchmarking activity for Palarong Pambansa, we will be able to witness firsthand the
proper conduct of each game events that might give us ideas on how we will develop,
train and support our learners to be able to reach their full potentials.

Activity Rationale:
The school principal of CADALIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL will attend the Palarong
Pambansa 2026 Benchmarking Activity.

Objective:
a. To experience firsthand how higher athletic meet is being conducted,
b. To learn how to support, develop and train athletes to be able to compete in higher
level competition through the experiences of the participants of the Palarong
Pambansa 2026, and
c. To support/cheer athletes from Davao City division competing in the event.
