Student Teacher’s Prayer

Dear Lord
Let me be just what they need.

If they need someone to trust, let me be trustworthy.

If they need sympathy, let me sympathize, if they need love, (and they do need

love), let me love, in full measure.

Let me not anger easily, Lord but let me be just.

Permit my justice to be tempered in your mercy.

When I stand before them, Lord, Let me look strong, good, honest and loving. And

let me be as strong, good, honest, and loving as I look to them.

Help me to counsel the anxious, crack the covering of the shy, temper the

rambunctious with gentle attitude.

Let the lessons they learn make their lives fruitful and happy. Lord, let me bring

them to you. Teach them through me to love you.

Finally, permit me to learn the lessons they teach.

Amen.
CREDO

I BELIEVE IN PEOPLE
Teaching always involves people and people are amazing. The challenges that are
faced every day make people who they are that accumulation of experience and
battles lost and won will shape how someone approaches learning something new.
far too many people have had experiences in school and creating a supportive and
encouraging space for learning to happen can make all the difference.

I BELIEVE IN BALANCE.
Work can be fun, amazing and sustaining, but there needs to be a break sometimes
between work and life. Having friends and family outside of work is important
and having space between them is better for all parts of the equation. It provides
perspective and space and time to reflect on those other parts of our lives.

One of the best things to help keep things organized for me is to schedule things
and keep my work email and personal email separate. Teaching can be all
consuming, so your evenings can fill up with work and then it just never seems to
the end. Disconnecting and going outside and walking around is a good thing.
More time doesn’t equal better work and realizing that is an important step in
finding the right balance between your life and your work.

I BELIEVE THAT LEARNING IS TEACHING AND TEACHING IS

LEARNING.
It is a journey and a cycle. To share and give and receiving is a wonderful virtuous
cycle. Sharing always gives you more that you put in.
It’s always great to find out somethings new and if you teach you will learn and if
you learn something it makes you better teacher.
Listening and speaking, speaking and listening, and then repeating the cycle is a
good thing. There is always more to learn and share which is why most teachers
are this for life.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE

If a child can’t
learn the way we
teach, maybe we
should teach the
way they learn.

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SITE OF PRACTICE TEACHING

Norzagaray National High School is lacated along villiarama highway in Brgy.

Poblacion, Norzagaray, Bulacan. The main campus of NNHS is situated in a 2464
sq.m. site with concrete fence.
Due to the ever growing student poplation, NNHS expand its campus,
Norzagaray National High School Annex I was develped in a 1500 sq. m. lot
located adjacent to the Municipal Compund, also in Brgy. Poblacion. The 10-room
Building was constructed in 199, under the incumbency of the Mayor Felicano P.
Legaspi .
As if the number of the rooms was not enough, Norzagaray National High
School had tp request for additional classroom. This saw the construction of a 4-
room 2 storey building situated in a 2820 sq. m. lot that was purchased through
the Municipal of the Norzagaray local School Board .
Two more 2 storey 4 classroom building were erected at annex II, one during
the SY 2007 and 2008 and the other one last SY 2009 – 2010, making the number
of classroom fot the use of grade 8 students, 12. All the classrooms had been
constructed with built in toilets.
A Mathematics and Science Building was later on constructed at the annex II
site to serve as venue for Science and Math hands-on activities and experiments.
Holcim Philppines, one of the school stakeholders who sponsored the
construction of the building, also pledge to provide the necessary laborary tool
and equipment.
Likewise, the Grade 7 student had transferred to the Annex II site due to the
completion of additional 3 two-storey- 4- classroom building, making them meet
the total number of section to be housed in the building. The trasfer to the new
site was made last june 2013.
In addition to this development at annex II site and through our own
initiatiative, a factor room and a canteen were also put up at the same site.
Building construction program has recently been implemented. More and
more new building are seen to be erected after the newly- constructed 2 storey 4-
classroom 3 storey 6classroom building at the main site had been endorsed to the
school.

School Recess Offers Numerous Benefits-
Stanford Report

A Positive school climate has been linked to a host of favorable student outcomes,

from attendance to achievement, according to the study. It includes four key

elements for students.

 Physical and emotional safety at school.

 Positive relationship with peers and adult.

 Support for learning

 An institutional environment that foster school connectedness and

engagement.

Students more often initiated games in the pro-recess environments (83 percent

of the students initiating games, compared to 33 percent in the lesser

environment) and female students felt more engaged overall (85 percent to 55

percent). Finally, an overall omprovement in how student felt was recorded (91

percent to 59 percent)

The study conclude that schools with well run and well organized recesses feel

better, safer and more engaged, which in turn was associated with improvements
in overall school climate. Teachers bgan to more highly appeciate the importance

of recess time.

REFLECTION PAPER

For almost 2 months of doing this internship, I

realized many things, first, I realized that
teaching is not an easy job. It is something
that you should dedicate your whole life. You
have to sacrifice everything to come up with a
very good lesson plan and pleasing instructional
materials. You have to be creative and wise in
choosing a teaching strategy.

Second, I learned that you need to have the

passion for teaching. Your motivation in
teaching should be intrinsic. It should be
something that you want, something that you
enjoy. Because I learned that if you do not have
the passion in this field you will feel like it
is a burden

Lastly, I learned that a teacher should have a

heart. A heart for teaching for his/her
colleagues and for his/her students. In order
for someone to be an effective teacher, he
should love teaching itself. He should have the
love for learning.

This internship taught me a lot of things in

life, especially when it comes to my patience.
It helped me cultivate some positive traits like
being punctual, optimistic and appreciative. I
will miss lot of things especially my students.
I hope someday, I will be able to have the
passion and the heart for teaching.

Title: Types of Chemical Reactions
A. Reference: Science and Learners Material (Pages 409-414)
Authors: Herma D. Acosta, Lisa A. Alvarez
B. Materials: Visual aids, PowerPoint presentation, Video clip, Chalk and Board

C. Ideas and Concepts:

1. The study of chemical reactions involves a large set of terms. Some aspects of
reactions may seem rather abstract, but the effects are not.
2. Every day, we witness evidence of chemical reactions—for instance, when a fire
burns, or metal rusts. To an even greater extent, we are surrounded by the
products of chemical reactions
D. Processes:
Defining, Identifying, Classifying

E. Values Integration:
1. It is significant to everyone to help us understand the properties of matter. By

studying the way a sample interacts with other matter, we can learn its chemical

properties. These properties can be used to identify an unknown specimen or to

predict how types of matter might react with each other.

2. By observing chemical reactions, we are able to understand and explain how the

natural world works. Chemical reactions turn food into fuel for your body, make
fireworks explode, cause food to change when it is cooked, make soap remove grime,

and so much more.

1. Introduction
It is vital for us to know what the role of
chemical reactions is, in our daily life.
Isn’t it? Yes, Sir.

Because chemical reactions are happening

inside your body every moment of every
day. As said earlier, our bodies use the
food we eat as chemical energy. But in the
chemical reactions there are four different
types of chemical reaction.

2. Presentation of the lesson

Class listen, so after you perform the game

and the pre-assessment of our topic for today,
Can you give me the four different types of Sir, the four different types of chemical
chemical reactions. reactions are the combination reaction,
decomposition reaction, single displacement
reaction, and the double displacement
reaction.
Yes, Thank You. Now before we continue to
discuss the different types of chemical
reaction, let us first watch the video clip. The students watched the video.

So now, we have the four different types of

chemical reaction, the combination/synthesis
reaction, decomposition reaction, single
displacement and the double displacement.
Let’s start to discuss first what Sir, two or more chemicals bond together

for the double displacement reaction.
Yes, We Are.
And for example,
NaOH + KNO3 NaNO3+KOH. Now
Class, Do you understand all of the types of
chemical reactions, and how they differ from
each other? Sir, the different types of reaction are the
combination synthesis reaction,
decomposition, single displacement reaction
and the double displacement reaction. Sir, in
Does anyone of you want to summarize what the combination reaction there is a combine of

and how they differ from each other? decomposition reaction there is a separation of
element. And for the single displacement there
is a replacement for an element and last the
double displacement reaction there is
switching or exchanging of places of an
element.

Excellent, Again in combination reaction

there is a combining of element or pairing up
to form product, while in the decomposition
there is breaking part of an element, and for
the single there is a replacement or cheating of
element, and last the double displacement
swap or changing of element. Now, I think
you are ready for a recitation. I need 10
students here in front to pick from the box a
chemical equation and answer what is given.
Based on what we discussed today. You are
going to identify what is represented by X and
classify the types of chemical reaction on the
given chemical equation. Who wants to
answer?
IV. Generalization
The four types of chemical reactions are, combination or synthesis reaction, where a
new product is synthesized by combination of two or three reactants. The second one
is decomposition reaction, where one compound decomposes or breaks into two or
more different products. Single displacement reaction, when a cation or an anion is
replaced from a compound, this is called as single displacement reaction. And last is
the double displacement when anions are exchanged between two compounds.

V. Application/Activity
Call 10 students to go in front and answer on the board. In the following chemical
reaction, what is represented by X? After you identify, classify the different types of
chemical reactions.
1. CaO X + O2
2. BaCl2 + Na2SO4 → BaX+ 2NaX
3. Mg + 2HI X + 2H
4. AgNO3 + KBr AgX + X
5. Cr  +  Fe(NO3)2  →  X +  Cr X
6. AlCl3  +  NaOH  →  X +  NaX
7. Mg (s) + O2 (g)  →  MgX  (s)
8. BaCl2 + MgSO4 X SO4 + X Cl
9. Cd(NO3)2 + Na2S → XS + 2 NaX
10. AgNO₃ + NaCl → XCl + XNO₃

VI. Evaluation
On ½ sheet of paper, copy and answer. Identify the types of chemical reaction, and
give the general formula of the given chemical equation.
1. 2 Na + Cl₂ →2 NaCl
2. 2 H₂O₂  → 2 H₂O + O₂
3. Mg + 2 HCl → H₂ + MgCl₂
4. HCl + AgNO₂ → AgCl + HNO₂
5. 2NaI + F2 2NaF + I2
6. N2 + 3H2 2NH3
7. 2AgCl + BaBr2 2AgBr + BaCl2
8. 2H2O 2H2 + O2
9.  2 KClO3   2 KCl   +     3 O2
10. CaCO3   +   2 HCl    CaCl2   +  H2CO3

Key to Corrections
1. Combination/Synthesis reaction (A+B AB)
2. Decomposition reaction (AB A+B)
3. Single displacement reaction (A+BC AC + B)
4. Double displacement reaction (AB + CD AD + CB)
5. Single displacement reaction (A+BC AC + B)
